With round-abouts you always have to indicate at least once at some stage, even if you're going straight ahead.

but not all round-abouts are created equal. In Rotorua there are a lot of 3 exit round- abouts that depending on which direction you are going , dont have a left exit.People still indicate to go left though. And then there are those really small ones that if you indicate left when you are going straight through then you are way down the exit road as you are indicating. i dont mind if people dont indicate on the 4 exit ones if they are going straight ahead , it's the people who have the right indicator going and then at the last moment turn the left one on and go straight through that i curse at .

But every exit on a roundabout is a left hand turn. It doesn't matter how many exits it has or where on the roundabout they are, you always turn left to exit.

When entering a roundabout you indicate exactly as you would at standard (non-roundabout) intersection. Then you indicate left when exiting.

EDIT: This link freitasm posted earlier really does explain it quite clearly.

Unless you are at one of those tiny roundabouts that are just a painted small circle (of which Wellington has a number in the suburbs) and when going straight through, you don't have enough time to indicate left when exiting.

There is one of those near my mothers house that I go straight through, I do usually indicate out of habit anyway but only get about 1 blink (if I'm lucky).

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Paid services that rely on mail delivery yet overlook basic things such as SPF.

Idiots who walk about en route to or from work, in the dark, wearing black clothes with no reflective strips, no torch etc etc.

Do they WANT to get run down?

This may be more of an issue in more rural places with no street lighting worthy of the name but man you see some fools out here - just stepping out in the road to cross with a ninja suit on.

Have you ever played with a cat or a small child? They think if they can't see you, then you can't see them. Adults of equivalent intelligence think if they can see you, then of course you can see them. That is why there is no need to turn on the car lights after sunset.

I was having an online support chat with Apple. This response annoyed me - and appalled me...!

The fact that the Vietnamese embassy stuck the Visa in my brand new passport on a randomly selected page somewhere in the middle of my passport instead of the first available page....

What is wrong with Westpac's online banking?! I just had to type my payment amount into TextEdit and then copy and paste it into the $ box because it wouldn't let me type any cents in there (even though it normally works). And for the past few months I've always had to click the "Make payment" button twice because it always rejects it the first time, claiming that the auto-filled date isn't valid... only to accept it the second time.

Stupid people that walk down the middle of the lanes in mall carparks oblivious to cars behind them. Usually the wide, slow ones too.
