Geo-blocked Apps on (Google) Play store.

Have a wifi device ex Europe that has a smartphone interface. Have the same device ex NZ agent - which cost 4x the price as the same device ex UK.

The device ex Europe won't work with the app available from the Play Store to NZ accounts. The European app can't be d/l from the Play store as it comes up with an "App is incompatible with all your devices" message.

Of course there are ways to get around that (I just d/l the apk - which works fine). The apps have identical interface, the devices have the same circuit boards, presumably the blocking of app communication with the different origin device is implemented via firmware.

A Japanese company makes the device and app. I think that stinks - but I guess the NZ agent thinks it's being very clever.

Hotel fridges with a thermostat dial numbered 1 to 5 but is 5 colder or 1? Why not just label it colder and warmer?

Up there with the announcement on the Wairarapa train that, at one station, passengers should disembark from the North end of the train or the South end of the train (depending on direction of travel). So, we are supposed to carry a compass?

What's wrong with 'front of the train' or 'back of the train'?!

The fact that, in order to get access to online chat support, Samsung require something called a "model code" and give no information as to what that is or where to find it....

People who drive at night with their headlights on.... but one of them is not working so they use their full beam to compensate

Cars following you at night with LED headlights set just a little too high. The sharp cut-off zone makes them really really annoying as you find yourself suddenly illuminated from behind every few seconds. Even flicking your rear view mirror up doesn't help much.

This is the second one to fail the same way in the switch mechanism (Last time it was switching on the fans) . (Same model, was replaced under warranty 2 years ago.)

Will have to look at other makes for my "next spare" as I have no confidence this one will last! (Same model)

We had one that did exactly that - when the lightbulb blew, it took the switch with it and popped the breaker.

Didn't bother with replacing the lightbulb after the second time.

The Hoyts iOS app that when you view your ticket it doesn't tell you the cinema number or seat numbers. You then have to go into the confirmation email instead which does show the numbers.

...and in any event it doesnt seem to actually make any difference which way you change it - the temperature stays the same AND they are surprisingly noisy when you are trying to sleep!

and when you are searching for a replacement battery for a laptop, they have no clear marking on the laptop as to which model the laptop is and if you do find it they like to print light grey on black and its even hard to read with a magnifying glass AND the actual battery has about 6 different part numbers printed on it - but then you find it is often referred to as something different altogether AND they only seem to have an expected life of about 6 months anyway (Thanks HP!) .

Not directly related - but look at this - a battery that has lasted 176 years and its still working!
