Oh yeah saw Gran Torino on Friday night... Eastwood is BADASS in that one, some awesome moments there.

Some shoddy acting (that Asian boy he befriends) and some woeful dialogue at times but overall very, very enjoyable.

"Out of the Blue", a movia about the the Aramoana massacre. Actually saw it a year or so ago, but have just noticed it is on TV on Saturday night. It is a brilliant film and if anyone hasn't seen it, watch it. 10/10.

GREAT movie.

Doesn't mess around eh? Straight into it, when David just starts putting bullets into people, kinda gives you a bit of a jolt - which it's supposed to, cuz it's "out of the blue" after all. It's shocking, and it puts you right there, without glorifying the events.

El Orfanato (The Orphanage)

Guillermo del Toro helped out on this one. Very, very, very engaging supernatural thriller with a pretty darn cool twist towards the end.

It's about a woman who lives with her husband and adoped HIV-positive son in an ex-orphanage. The boy has imaginary friends who might not be imaginary... things get pretty creepy at parts and there's some real "JUMP" moments in there.

8/10 for me

Last saturday just gone i had a work party/awards night and i got very drunk.
i like some others cant go to sleep drunk the room starts to spin and its good bye lunch.
so i watched some tv at 2am and i saw "The People vs Larry Flynt" its an old one with woody Harrilson in it.
it is about Larry Flynt the owner of Hustler Magazine and his life.
it was great i thought it was a very sad story about a guy trying to make a buck.
i recomend it but not in front of the kids!

Dammit, it's like a "lite" version of the book. Good, but missing some really important bits and I think the story suffers for it.

Just watched Primer again!

Such a great movie and I recommend it to any one who likes something a bit different.

It involves timetravel and won Sundance 5 or so years ago

Definitely worth checking out the book, soooo much more to the story than the movie lets on. Lots of background character stuff which sets the tone, and lots of really disturbing bits that were probably a bit too harsh for a mass audience.

Still would stand up on its own though I reckon. Some parts are EXACTLY how I pictured them whilst reading it.

Dead Snow... mate that's a total hoot - more laughs than scary moments, but hey, it's a splatter flick!

Just reading "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy of "No Country For Old Men" fame. I hear it'll be a movie too.

I really liked that movie... Even though it had subtitles... Weird for me, I usually don't like reading when watching a movie :)

I'm quite used to subtitles now. Four nights in a row last week I watched movies in different languages. Only time it becomes a pain is if I wanna get up and grab something from the fridge (yeah yeah I could pause it I know!)

Just saw The Hangover. I'll file it under "A" for "average"... I let the hype get the better of me and I set my expectations too high.

Hitman - again - goes onto my CLASSIC list. just absolutely brilliant (acc to me)
Oceans 11 - classic. Oceans 12 & 13 - draggy and *yawn fell asleep a few times.
