tons: Any new news (or opinion)?
The ball is in HN's court as far as I can see. If they are interested in providing good customer service they will provide a model number on the ASUS. I don't think it's unreasonable to furnish this information, afterall they have already been paid in full in many cases. If it is the "same spec" as they claim, there should be no problem with advising the model number.
I assume ASUS aren't going to ship these things to us in brown paper bags. I assume it will have a proper fitting box with polystyrene inserts that hold the netbook, battery, power cord, manuals in place. I assume the manual won't be hand-written by some ASUS staff member somewhere in Asia.
If it doesn't correspond to an existing model then I'm nervous about the after-sales support that will be available. I don't want to be going to the ASUS download site to find drivers and bios updates, only to discover that they don't recognise this made-up model.
