T3 on T3. Terminator 3 on Television 3. It hasn't gotten better with age sadly.

It was never any good to start with IMHO. Unlike the stellar T1 and T2

Victoria and Abdul.

About what I expected. Some good moments, some not so much. Strong performance from Dame Judi Dench 7/10

Killing Gunther.  0.5 out of 10, and the 1/2 a point is only because Arnie was in it (barely).  Premise had potential, but ended up a terrible, terrible movie.   http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5689068/?ref_=nv_sr_3

Battle of the Sexes.  Enjoyed this much more than I thought I would. Great performances.  7/10.  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4622512/reviews?ref_=tt_ql_3

Alien: Covenant - The latest in the Alien franchise. I love the sci-fi and new planets and travelling in space thing.....and I liked the way they wove Prometheus into the narrative. I'm easily pleased.

What sucked? A few things.

In particular the lazy horror movie plot drivers. You're on an alien planet that clearly has life. Do you take any bio-hazard precautions? Of course not.

Or how about.....we're in a strange place and already not taking any sane precautions.....so let's split up.

But even before that was the ship travelling at a reasonable percentage of the speed of light and they want to........change course. No problem. Just turn the steering wheel, right?

I nearly hit the stop button. That was pathetic.

But I stuck with it and eventually reached a point where I could honestly say I don't hate this movie. Probably.

Out of 10? For the sci-fi, I'll give it an 8 out of 10. For the plot I'll give it a 3.  For Michael Fassbender.....10 out of 10. I think he saved the movie.

Plausible. Weyland-Yutani corporation is not known for adherence to safety protocols.

I watched Alien Covenant on 4K Blu-ray the other night. It's not a great fun but it is stunning to look at.

Watched Limehouse Golem on Amazon Prime. Disappointed with the ending, give it 6/10.

Have John Wick Chapter 2 on 4K UHD here, to watch on a new Sony A1 OLED. Waiting for @dratsab, @michaelmurfy and @sbiddle to confirm date for whisky night. Watched one scene to compare with Amazon Prime 1080p and... wow.

Blade Runner 2049.

Absolutely masterpiece, I'd say this is the best scifi movie made in this millennia so far.Very true to the style and low paced storytelling of the first movie, visually very impressive and music is well though and supports the action on screen brilliantly.

Most likely it will not appeal to younger audience due distinct lack of ADHD editing or constant action. Must see for everyone who likes the original movie as IMHO this is even better than the original.

I agree.

After so many prequels/sequels of classic film have turned out to be rubbish, FINALLY one that caught the spirit of the original and told a complete story without leaving hanging threads for the inevitable crappy sequel.

Its a long film, two people left about 80% after 80% but it worked very well for me.

Untouchables on Netflix. Good story supported by great acting from an exceptional cast. 8/10

Its a pity Sean Connery retired after that dreadful League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Re: Blade Runner 2049, to those who have seen the new movie, is it necessary or even desirable to have seen the original Blade Runner movie first?

Not necessary but definitely desirable:

1. To decide if you appreciate the style and mood of the movie

2. Character back stories and references to Blade Runner original story line

3. Appreciation of certain scenes and sequences that reference the original
