Cars following you at night with LED headlights set just a little too high. The sharp cut-off zone makes them really really annoying as you find yourself suddenly illuminated from behind every few seconds. Even flicking your rear view mirror up doesn't help much.

 

Not just LED's but also HID and badly aligned normal headlights aswell makes you wonder where they're getting their WOF's from and does the place actually do a proper job of testing the headlight position or are they just checking that they turn on and off,  on low beam the center of the light pool on the road should be no more than 25 feet in front of the car on dip

I can understand why as some people didn't use them properly, but when I read about people down the line and not having any electric power for a number of days, you'd be pretty stuffed/cold/frozen if you didn't have any other means of heating.

Is that true? I live in an old farmhouse. The room I spend most of my time in, where the computers are, would be unbearable without the gas heater. Electricity is not a viable option. I tried that in the past. An ordinary electric heater does not warm the space and is much too expensive for continuous operation. It would also place an unsafe load on our old wiring, which is a lot riskier than the gas heater next to me that I never leave on when I leave the room. If I can't buy a replacement heater when the current one dies I might as well burn down the house. This idiocy really makes me angry. When did this happen?

Not too sure when this happened - I purchased a delonghi  4200W burner a couple of years ago from Bunnings or Mitre10, and just sold it on TradeMe last night, for about $140.00, which was $50.00 less than what I had paid for it.

I sort of recall the sales person  advising that these were the last of the stock, and no more was being imported.

The lady who purchased it mentioned that she could no longer get them from the major hardware chains, and sure enough, nothing listed anymore.

I still have my tabletop outdoors gas heater - I'll be hanging into that.

Crazy stuff - buy as many LPG gas heaters as you can, clean them up. Flog them off during cold winters - you'll make a killing !!

Even more crazier, people will be hanging on to their old dunger LPG heaters, with cracked hoses and dodgy seals, making probable non-problem into a potentially really dangerous one. The law of unintended consequences strikes again !!!

Good. Sick of going to peoples houses and they have one of those running inside poluting the place to the point that standing outside and getting cold is the safer option.
