I mean like isnt that how they ran the illegal importation business back in the 70s and 80s (well at AFAIK from watching Underbelly NZ).

As you're obviously completely unaware of what a "gift" is I'll quote the appropriate piece of legislation -

If you live in NZ and someone from another country sends you a gift that’s worth NZ$110 or less, you won’t have to pay duties as long as:
- you didn’t order or pay for it
- it’s for your personal use.

Obviously buying something from Amazon immediately excludes it from being a legitimate gift.

Guess it could work if you never want to bring in something more than $110.

Wrong answer. It's nowhere near as anonymous as you think.

If you start sending multiple gifts to a single address your packages will be intercepted and you will be charged.

That happens now with both gifts under $110 and trying to split orders of over $400 into smaller packages to avoid GST and/or duty.

With the new GST regulations in place the same rules apply as now - if you're going to try and a cheat a system you have to accept that at times you will get caught.

I couldn't care less about whether you try to rip off the system. All I'm saying is that customs are a lot smarter than you seem to think they are, and doling this is a guaranteed way of being caught.

There have been multiple posts on here from people over the years who have been caught out, and like anything in life if you're willing to try and exploit loopholes eventually you get caught. You just need to be aware that one day that will happen.

Fake ID is easy. Just photoshop a driver license and laminate it. Won't pass in any pub but I bet you can use it for a parcel. Not that I support this, of course.

anybody can pick up an item as long as they have the card that is for calling and they just write down the name I swear anybody can pick up lots of people have different surnames and are not married just like our Prime Minister's husband
