Dairusire:

It's not off AliExpress but it is off an eBay seller in Shenzen China, with free shipping.

Bought a LSI 9300-8i last week Sunday 12th, and it was shipping two hours later, arrived this morning.

The new Unraid server is coming together quite nicely :)

I have about 4 of them now in computers that have HDDs replacing the craptastic marvell or silicon image cards that I have used in the past. So much more reliable. Not had a storage space randomly stop since moving to the LSI HBAs.

Mine did come off aliexpress as did the break out cables to sata.

Nice! Yeah did a bit of research and they definitely seemed the go to considering the price. It was I think $45 US including shipping, taxes and the two break-out cables to sata.

Well worth it imho

Still a bit miffed by this one - they are an established company, so when I pre-ordered this (then called ZMI no. 20) via their IndieGogo page for USD99 back in 2021 I didn't expect any issues. When they finally shipped though, they realised that the carrier they were using wouldn't deliver powerbanks to NZ, so they simply didn't send it. All contact attempts were ignored, and like many, my payment was simply treated as a donation.

I decided it would be the final time I would deal with either Indiegogo or ZMI.

That is absurd, what the hell. Did you try a charge back or similar? That really sucks, didn't know Indiegogo or ZMI would screw people over like this.

Unfortunately chargeback isn't an option as projects usually fail to deliver months or years after the payment has been made, and both Indiegogo and Kickstarter explicitly say that it is entirely possible that any project will not deliver what they promise. It wasn't the first thing I've backed that has resulted in a total loss, but it just rankled that in this case they actually managed to produce the product :)

Step drills in odd rather than even steps.  Incredibly useful when you get tired of drilling to the closest even step size and then spending ages trying to file the hole out by 1mm.

Are they accurate tho? My cheap step drill was clearly an inch one that they have just put the closest mm numbers onto as the steps were not in even steps.

Good point, haven't tested them yet since they've just arrived.

Edited to add: Seems to be about right.

Somehow my incoming Aliexpress order added its tracking number automatically to my NZ Post tracking list. I mean, I'm sure it's from Ali even though the name it gave itself is "UBI eBay CN". I haven't ordered anything from ebay in a long time. The tracking appeared by itself at around the same time I got an alert from Ali that my package had cleared customs.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Often Aliexpress tracking numbers aren't recognised by NZ Post so I don't bother adding them to their tracking and once Ali tells me the parcel has arrived in country I have no visibility of its movements until it lands on my doorstep. So this is actually kind of handy. But how is NZ Post matching it to my NZ Post account? Purely by the name and address on the parcel? Did NZ Post do something helpful by mistake?

I got a laptop battery from Singapore and it came relatively fast so I assume it came on a plane.

Is there a capacity limit and your battery is over that?

That's interesting. I have never seen that happen before. If they're matching email address somehow then it wouldnt work for me because its different between nz post and aliex, but phone number should match.

So the 2nd of two AliExpress packages has automatically added itself to my NZPost tracking, so I guess this is A Thing now. Not complaining, but the fact that it happens without my involvement is a bit weird. Handy though.

Anyway, in keeping with the theme of this thread, one thing I received was 3Pcs Air Fryer Egg Mold Silicone Egg Poacher Cups Nonstick Egg Boiler Mould Cup Microwave Cooker Egg Bite Maker for Oven Kitchen. It's little rubber dishes for cooking eggs. Not yet tried them.

Not Aliexpress but Amazon, but variants are all over Aliexpress: A UTP cable stripper.  This thing is amazing, wish I'd known about them years ago.  This is armoured outdoors Cat6:
