I think social media have changed something fundamental. Wherever we are headed, it will never be back to where we were.

Social media is a pox on humanity.

freitasm: I remember we had thousands of books at home.

You lived in a book depository?  Was it in Dallas?

Been to Austin and Houston. Never to Dallas. And I know nothing about a grassy knoll.

An AI-Powered smart spice dispenser (about to debut on Kickstarter).

So like a Juicero but even dumber.

How easy is for someone to

  1. Owe $1.5 million to IRD after two years in business
  2. Open a new business on the same day your old business is liquidated, with a logo that looks the same as before.

How long could you use that money to pay (say) an unemployed/homeless person to act as a personal barista for an hour or two a day?

(Which would also give them employable job skills at the end of it).

👍 Great. Just the thing for people who know nothing about cooking. When it comes to spices, the best way is to roast them and process them with a stone-age tool. Natural intelligence has a clear culinary advantage.

Looks like another phoenix company switcheroo.

"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell

The real Whisky Tango Foxtrot is why Stuff didn't update the report with the really juicy bit from the liquidators second report - the shareholders current account is overdrawn and they are endeavoring to claw it back. They republished a six month old story to get rage clicks but couldn't be arsed updating it.

Don't you just love "Lifetime offers" that are not....

"Dear customer,

Thank you for using our A Cloud Guru (ACG) product. We wanted to let you know we are launching new packages that now include the best of tech and cloud, all within one platform. These new packages include integrating A Cloud Guru into the Pluralsight platform.

Our records show that you have a ACG course lifetime access account. As part of integrating A Cloud Guru into the Pluralsight platform, we are terminating your lifetime course access license to the software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering of A Cloud Guru on February 1, 2025 due to the plan being retired. This move is made in accordance with the termination for convenience clause as outlined in section 14.2 of our Individual Terms of Use.

Please note the following details regarding the termination:

  • Termination date: The termination will occur February 1, 2025. After that date, you’ll no longer have access to the lifetime course.
  • Data retrieval: We may delete any personal data associated with your personal A Cloud Guru account after the termination date and aren’t responsible for any loss or deletion thereafter.
  • Outstanding obligations: You have no outstanding payment obligations related to the SaaS offering prior to the termination date.

With this new change, we’d like to invite you to try our new Pluralsight packages. Be on the look out in March for a promo code to try our new Complete package for free, which includes everything Pluralsight has to offer.

We apologize for any inconvenience this termination may cause and appreciate your understanding. If you have any questions or require further assistance, please chat with us.

The Pluralsight Team

That sucks! Not even an offer of a price reduction, or similar, for existing clients to migrate to the new system.

One way to show how loyal they are.

What arrogant crap! I have also recently started seeing an expiration date on my lifetime VPN subscription, though it is still a way off. Why do business at all with an outfit that doesn't honour its agreements?

You are making the wrong assumptions: ‘Lifetime’ refers to the lifetime of the product, not that of the user. 😉
