That after 26 days of no water on the Street, 6 phone calls to the CCC, and filling in their On-line form.
That after a phone call yesterday afternoon to the Contractor, the Flooding Signs have been removed already today!
In other words bypass the CCC if possible and save at least 25 days!
Taking a couple of days off next week to watch my son play football for his school in the National Schoolboys Tournament Week.
They may not win, but at least this tournament is going ahead, unlike the previous 2 years!

Also - work conference this week - had a keynote speaker.
This guy: https://camcalkoen.com/
Wow. It's probably the first time at a corporate gig that I have come away completely inspired by a speaker. And I mean properly, completely inspired.
If you ever get a chance to see Cam Calkoen speak - DO NOT MISS IT.

Or any council for that matter. Several trees came down on a well-used bush track near here a few months ago, and the council's response was to put up a barrier with a "Danger, keep out" sign at the start that's universally ignored, there's a side-track trodden out around the side of the barrier. Today was a fine day so I decided to go for a walk with a saw:
The track is now re-opened for dog walkers and joggers. One dog-walker stopped to thank me at one of the now-cleared fallen trees and I told her to remember that whoever did it was in his 30s, red hair and a beard, probably some sort of foreigner.
And people (other people, not me) complain about couriers being slow -

Just finding out that Spark Sport has the US Tennis open live , which means ESPN doesn't. So no bumping College Football and NFL from the Schedule. 😀
Common sense is not as common as you think.
Eldest son is at one of the National Secondary Schools football tournaments this week (Tournament Week all over the country). It's his last year at high school and the last two years tournament has been cancelled.
Just found out they won their first game and he scored a goal. Good times.
Going up to watch a couple of games tomorrow.

Mum was at a "meet the candidates" thing on the weekend. Each candidate was given two minutes to speak, and this was timed and enforced. Apparently one hopeful spent her first minute speaking in Maori, then the second minute saying how grateful she was to be there and thanking the organisers, and then the bell rang before she had said anything about why anyone should vote for her.
Behodar:..and then the bell rang before she had said anything about why anyone should vote for her.
At least she didn't get to hear any "bullsh*t" promises! Which normally happen and never eventuate if they are elected!

I think that said all anyone needed to know about voting for her...
