Annihilation - I enjoyed it. Some parts were a little predictable, but on the whole was a thought provoking and intelligent film. I had been waiting for this to come to the theatre, so was surprised to learn that Netflix had purchased the international rights and I could watch at home. 8/10
Tomb Raider - 6/10. I found Alicia was painful at times. Her British pomp seemed great in places and really out of place in others. Story was poorly paced, and the plot twists could have used a little more focus.
Was an easy way to kill a couple of hours. Won't be buying on Blu-Ray.
Finding Your Feet
Really enjoyable rom com with a stellar cast, very well executed. It's not a genre I am especially fond of, but I certainly recommend it - especially for date nights with wives!
The Party
Slightly arty, short, very funny in parts and rather like one of those whodunnit stage productions turned into a film. Good cast though and well done in B&W.
American Made. Tom Cruise running guns for the CIA and drugs for the cartel. Based on a true story the main part was made for TC. Entertaining. 7.5/10
Lucky Logan. Heist movie with Tatum Channing and Daniel Craig who rob a speedway on it's biggest race day of the year. OKish, might be better on a second watching. 6.5/10.
Enjoyed Red Sparrow. Hardly a great piece of cinematic art, but enjoyable in an Atomic Blonde kind of way.

The Foreigner with Jacky Chan and Pierce Brosnan. Very good movie.
Agreed. Not quite the same Jackie Chan fare - more like Taken but entertaining nevertheless. Ripe for a sequel.

Murder on the Orient Express 2017 and 1974.
Watched the 2017 version first not knowing the actual plot. Kenneth Branagh a bit OTT as Poirot but the supporting cast good. Thought the ending was a bit convoluted and after reading some reviews of that and the 1974 version, watched the earlier version.
A much bigger cast of "stars" and seemed to flow better than the later version but of course the plot the similar as this is how Agatha Christie wrote it.
6/10 for the 2017 version and maybe 8/10 for the earlier.
Interestingly Agatha Christie, who apparently didn't like film adaptations of her movies and rarely approved them, approved and liked the 1974 version her only negative comment being Poirot's moustache wasn't as magnificent as it should have been while she obviously wasn't around to comment on the latest version where Branagh's moustache (and in fact his entire portrayal) was a bit self-indulgent. This is the peril of being the start and director. But it ended with a setup for a sequel.

Intouchables (2011) - 9.5/10 higly recommended from a social point of view. Doesn't fit for gun-action-heroes.

We watched I, Tonya last night. Actually quite enjoyed it.
Death of Stalin 8/10
Definitely need to have black sense of humour.
Jason Isack had best moments
Shape of Water - A very good movie but personally I don't see how it won best movie of the year at the Oscars. I would put Dunkirk, Three Billboards and Logan above this.
Annihilation. I don't see what the fuss was about. Seemed like a basic, albeit a bit slow in places, sci-fi. 5/10 from me.

I haven't seen the original for a long, long time, so can't comment on that, but watched the latest version on Saturday night with the Missus.
I had to agree with her, when she said it was slow and a bit to "talky"...I simply don't remember the original being that slow...
Well shot and acted, but the whole thing felt like it could've been given a bit more life...

Grumpy old men (1993) 8/10 - Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau - if you like their sparring and cutting humour.
