Talking about energy generation, this is the picture blog from Boston.com today on coal. They say 7,000 megatons of coal were mined last year...

Bottom line....They have no idea. But hey making bold and alarming press releases is a great way to get funding for ones pet project and income continuity.

Are you suggesting that climate scientists are getting rich off this?

sbiddle: Is there really any global warming occuring?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2093264/Forget-global-warming--Cycle-25-need-worry-NASA-scientists-right-Thames-freezing-again.html?ito=feeds-newsxml

http://thinkprogress.org/romm/2012/01/30/414478/daily-mail-warming-human-emissions-dwarf-any-solar-changes/

http://metofficenews.wordpress.com/2012/01/29/met-office-in-the-media-29-january-2012/

This article includes numerous errors in the reporting of published peer reviewed science undertaken by the Met Office Hadley Centre and for Mr. Rose to suggest that the latest global temperatures available show no warming in the last 15 years is entirely misleading.Despite the Met Office having spoken to David Rose ahead of the publication of the story, he has chosen to not fully include the answers we gave him to questions around decadal projections produced by the Met Office or his belief that we have seen no warming since 1997.

Should we be listening to the scientists or the media?

*Most* scientists say.

It's a myth that there is no consensus.

Its absolutely a myth.

And the government is profiting off it.  They tried to tax us because our cows were farting for crying out loud.  I think they succeeded in Australia.  They now have to pay 23 dollars per tonne of carbon emitted.  That would start adding up after a while.

As far as science goes, I read somewhere that we are well within the bounds of the acceptable amount of carbon in the atmosphere.
Next they will want to tax us on our breathing because 50% of the process is exhaling carbon dioxide and its harming local communities.

Wow, that site is a veritable museum of falsehoods and does well to leave out the auxiliary effects of excessive CO2 that would falsify the claims.

I have to wonder why it's run by a former oil company manager too.

Where does it say they're taxing cows?

lol. Just took a closer look at the URL: PlantsNeedCO2.org. Save the plants before it's too late !!

Mission statement:

"Our mission is to educate the public on the positive effects of additional atmospheric CO2 and help prevent the inadvertent negative impact to human, plant and animal life if we reduce CO2"

That mission statement makes no sense: "[and] help prevent the inadvertent negative impact to human, plant and animal life if we reduce CO2".
