I'm guessing the court order allowed the police to remove the tents, the fact that the people were only wearing underwear inside the tent is not their issue?

Watched the second video linked, the one from before that. I think the second one is a farse and the first one shows a bunch of idiots who really not representing what people think/want.

Did I say that? Certainly not, you'd have to be pretty stupid to still be protesting when there is no clear goal and no clear progress since the beginning.

I don't see why, though, that it was necessary to strip search the person, as well as being in a public place.

Now watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGBTes_VHAk , of what happened before they took the tent off the lady, it's convenient the most viewed video is an edited copy without immature behaviour of winding up the cops before hand. I'm surprised they held off for that long really, what did the protesters expect to happen?

That second video was actually very funny in the beginning - you can see most of the cops are having a laugh about it as well. I'd be surprised if there is a rule against tents in a public park, you often see family shades etc. So the rule is probably about 'no camping' in a public park.

It is unclear what happens (if anything) between those two videos, and beyond that it is unclear if the action applied to that person was intended as a 'search' or 'tent removal'.

It seems Occupy "hijacked by rival agendas":

One of the original protesters at the Occupy Auckland camp believes the site has been hijacked by people pushing their own agendas and not those that sparked the movement.

"I was encouraged by the gathering and networking of numerous concerned citizens, with a broad spectrum of issues including environmental, poverty, children, regulatory and more," he said in an email to the council on Monday.
Mr Hendrie said as the weeks rolled on he witnessed an erosion in the number of genuine campaigners, an increase in the number of homeless residents and a lack of controls around new members and their behaviour.

There had been "repeated hijacking of the general assemblies for issues not consistent with those which birthed the occupy movement", he said.

Oh look, it appears you need some sort of management. Something like *puts on sunglasses* A CENTRAL GOVERNMENT BODY. Take that, anarchists without borders.

It would be great to get a big "Reclaim our Square" demonstration together to try and get our open grassed space back for the use of families and workers. i.e. the "ordinary people"

No, the protestors are the 1% - i.e. the vast majority of "normal people" that just get on with their jobs, raise families etc are the 99% who would just like these guys to move on and stop hogging this public space. I actually agree with some of the protestors views, but the way they've turned Aotea Square into a cosy little long term camp smacks of arrogance now. It's as if their target has shifted from banks and government policies to the council. This isn't about freedom of speech, or right of protest anymore - they've had those rights in spades.
