I have found, whenever you watch fiction, especially Science Fiction you are better to save your analysis and just suspend your disbelief.

Especially if the movie comes from The Asylum Company.

Suspending your disbelief to buy into the premise is one thing, but once you have done that things should be internally consistent and make sense within the fictional universe in which they exist.

Mission Impossible, Imax Auckland on Saturday.

Pretty good although maybe not the best one of the series. I always enjoy the gadgets and rubber masks etc but this one was more stunts than gadgets, most of which had been widely publicised before the release.

It's the second film I have seen in Imax this year and both times I have come out wondering what is so great about Imax over a good 'normal' screen.

Tomb Raider.

Picking at my eyeballs with toothpicks would've been more fun.

1/10

The sequel was worse.

I'd imagine he's talking about the new one.

Certainly was.. It makes the Jolie one look like Oscar material.

fantastic beasts and where to find them - Netflix - 8/10 Eddie Redmayne was his usual best, with Colin Farrell not bad as the villain. CGI was pretty good with a good plot

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

I'd probably go with 7/10 and I found Eddie a bit irritating TBH.

Deadpool 2. Still trying to figure what was the fuss about. Rated highly on IMDB, yet just like other sequels - weak.

Hereditary. This was a painful watch 3/10 don't know how it has a 7.5 on imdb.
Upgrade. All the action was in the trailer had the potential to be a good action flick 5/10.

Saw Hereditary on the big screen. Thought first two thirds were outstanding, the last third no so, but overall rate it very highly. The scene with the lamp post, and what immediately followed - best horror scene at least in last decade (IMHO)
