Gurezaemon:
Oldest son got accepted into the navy today. Pretty stoked.
There used to be a rank or occupation in the Navy called ‘stoker’ (maybe there still is) - that’ll be him then. ๐
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

In the few hours where they took down the old fascia, two sets of neighbours came over and asked whether they could do their place as well, and how soon they could start.
neb: Not something that made me smile but something that made the guys replacing the Klass fascia at a friend of mine's place smile: They drive up the street to his place and see Klass fascia, Klass fascia, Klass fascia, Klass fascia, ... . One of them joked that they'd have to rent a house there given all the work they were surrounded by. I'm assuming Klass Fascia is the same as Taylor Fascia (internal gutters)?
We had ours replaced a few weeks ago and had a similar experience - one of the guys working on the house loudly proclaimed that this neighbourhood could keep them employed for the next 20 years!
Handsome Dan Has Spoken.
Handsome Dan needs to stop adding three dots to every sentence...
Handsome Dan does not currently have a side hustle as the mascot for Yale
*Gladly accepting donations...
Edited to add: And it ran the entire 5 hours with 1/3 battery still available at the end.

Yeah. I referred to Klass specifically because I didn't want to tar all internal(-overflow) guttering systems with the same brush, but it looks like there are more out there with the same problem.
The PMs opinion of David Seymour.

Made my son smile.
He is a big Forza Horizon fan and during the pandemic, my kids and I have enjoyed it. He has become quite car-obsessed, particularly in Lamborghini's and in particular, the SVJ. He has one in game and he was driving around today when lo and behold another one pulled up beside him, in the identical rare colour!
I am imagining two kids on the other side of the world from each other, grabbing their parents and dragging them to the screen to show what a rare likelihood it is.
DHL Express delivery, and that it has a live update option to let you know exactly when your parcel is going to be delivered. I was genuinely impressed as I hadn't seen that before.
Plus the prescription sunnies that I bought from clearly.co.nz are awesome too (hence the package) Two pairs of custom prescription sunnies for $190. That's half the price of one "decent" pair from the big brand stores.
I never participate in silly supermarket giveaways. Far better in my opinion is that they just quit overcharging so much. But I still always accept whatever is being given away, from plastic figurines to mystery stamps to drinking glasses. I then turn to the person behind me and ask if (s)he would like to have whatever it is. The response is almost always a big smile and a delighted yes, especially when it is for children. What a simple way to make someone's day!

I collect (NW glasses at the moment) and the wife takes anything I get to her work for fellow staff members.
The "Little Garden" ones went really well. Lots of staff with "young ones" who all got to grow something. I cannot speak for eating the result however ๐

Ugh, those things, it's as if they expect me to eat as many turnips as a medieval peasant.

Walking up Hansons Lane for my blood test and see a lady getting out of her car.
Discuss the new Consulate cameras etc.
Even she had noticed the graffiti painted over - despite the cameras and the moron security guard in his car ....and said:
"Oh, he is usually asleep!"
Put a smile on my face that I was not the only one to notice!
Two officers forced their way into Laz Emporium gallery in London to rescue an apparently unconscious woman slumped over a desk, only to find it was a mannequin forming part of an art installation.
The Met Police broke into the art gallery in Soho after a member of the public made a call on 25 November. saying they had seen someone “in distress”.
After breaking down the doors to get inside, officers found an artwork made of packing tape and foam filler.
The £18,000 sculpture was commissioned by Banksy's ex-agent and owner of Laz Emporium, Steve Lazarides. The artwork is a depiction of his sister, Kristina, with her head in a bowl of soup.
