The ease with which you can upgrade from one Apple device to another and retain all your "stuff".

Just got a "new" MacBook Air to replace our ageing and slowing 2011 iMac.

Plug it in and start the boot-up process and it asks me if I would like to transfer files etc from another Apple Mac device.

I say yes, fire up the 2011 iMac (wait for 10 min for it to boot up) and then open an app, which starts the process.

Off it goes, on its own. So simple.

It'll be all done in 14 hours. 😃

This tweet from Ricky Gervais made me smile.

Whenever you're feeling down about life and thinking nobody cares, just remember you'll be dead soon and none of this will matter. Have a great day.

Tomorrow is my last day in this job. After a short break I start my new role on the 9th Jan.

What's making me smile is that I wiped my corporate phone this morning and set up an old phone of my wife's that we kept in a draw as a back up. Its the thought of a christmas and new year break with no corporate emails, phone calls or teams meetings that is making me smile. For the first time in ~15yrs I don't have to be contactable over this period. I know its only temporary but just let me enjoy this peace and quiet for now.

You clearly are imagining that interaction and it didn't happen.

… unless they’re as useless as a chocolate teapot and that’s why their work is in very low demand. 😀

Calling a business owner and their voicemail is quite hilariously unprofessional.
