Back on topic... Annoys me people who are "friendly" here on Geekzone, use our "Offers/Wanted" subforum a lot and overall behave well but then post in other NZ forums how they dislike Geekzone.

The fact that despite having undergone

1) Positive vetting by GCSB/SIS for New Zealand Top Secret Clearance

2) Criminal record check for Permanent Residency

3) Criminal record check for NZ Citizenship

4) Criminal record check and police interview for restricted category firearms licence endorsements

I still have to get a fool piece of paper from the police in the UK AGAIN to prove I have no criminal record when I apply for a P endorsement on my driving licence, despite not having lived there since moving to NZ in 2005...!!

TV and movie actors and directors are so bad at playing dead these days they are always obviously breathing while the rest of the scene continues.

That's actually happened enough to become a thing? That's a dick move on their part. :\

I can't think of anything off the top of my head that I dislike about geekzone- The mod's all seem pretty reasonable, it's a very diverse community with lots of skills in very varied areas, generally speaking people are pretty friendly and of course, the WTB/Sale section has some good deals come up in it!

And to be completely frank, Geekzone is probably my most consistently visited forum, with only a couple of subreddit's behind that.

Another thing that annoys me, which was brought up in another thread; is people's inconsiderate behavior when living in apartment buildings (close quarter living).

Yes, I can hear you thumping around at all hours of the night, slamming doors.
Yes, your smoking wafts directly into my apartment daily.
Yes, I can hear you yelling to your friend standing next to you at 1am.

When one of those apartments become available on the top floor... it shall be mine! smile, that should mostly take care of issue 1 and 2.

When people say they will meet you at a specific time. To me the time you give is the time you meet up (Give or take a few minutes), not 30 minutes later.

Agree. Some people live by the standard: "If you important, they will wait."

I was told on arrival to New Zealand: - "..it is good enough to know in New Zealand what day is it today.."

Meeting at around "ish" seems to be a norm. That all adds to that unique relaxed life style when nobody seems to be in a rush ..or are they?

If that is the lifestyle - why every morning some people on State Highway 1 are so mad? Mainly small business branded vechicles. I could only guess they are trying to get to the workplace on time when you are waiting. (Sarcasm)

If I start thinking about them rushing to not make other people waiting...- such a relief..

Boy does it ever. I always try to make it places at least 5 minutes before the arrival, usually on a short trip.

Thats why I prefer to ship things. I'll do it "some time" during the day after a payment has cleared. Saves a lot of hassle. Obviously not suitable for things like selling a couch, but generally speaking is good.

This is good until the prat in front of you stops suddenly, even though they have entered the intersection, and you run into the back of them and then the person behind you runs into you.

One driving thing that really bugs me for no good reason, but probably no one else, driving with your park lights on.

It means the dash lights up which makes it easier to see your speed so you dont accidentally go 5k over the limit and suddenly find yourself $30 poorer.

With our car (a Honda with a digital dash display), turning on the running lights dims the display, making it almost unreadable in daylight.

Trademe buyers that say they can't pay cash on pickup, but assume they can pick up the item in a matter of hours despite only having (reportedly) paid via bank transfer that morning...

Usually followed by a bit of a tirade when you say no, I'll wait until the money clears, thanks.

The repetitiveness of TV ads, especially when watching cricket.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.
