I got a wifi 7 intel card for my laptop but it doesnt like it.

All the 2.5g PCIe cards are working great but the cheap 10G dual port one I got that is a PCIe 8x card is not happy with anything I have tried it in other than the GPU slot which is obviously not where I want to put it.

Yeah also got a 2.5Gb PCIe card from Aliexpress several weeks ago and its working fine. That 10Gb card being PCIe x8 is only going to fit a x16 slot unless the motherboard has a x8 slot.

Just arrived this morning, 2.5Gbps USB 3 Network Adapter and WiFi 6E AX210 M.2 Card With Bluetooth

Did a quick iperf3 test of the 2.5 Gbps network adapter and got the follow results,

[ ID] Interval           Transfer     Bitrate         Retr
[  5]   0.00-10.00  sec  2.74 GBytes  2.36 Gbits/sec    0             sender
[  5]   0.00-10.00  sec  2.74 GBytes  2.35 Gbits/sec                  receiver

Also the adapter works out of the box with Linux 😀

Just a quick update, the wifi m.2 card is working but had trouble fitting it as the provided fitting screw was way too small for the fitting on my motherboard. Luckily I had a spare screw of the correct size so all is well 😄

Its got 2 but it seems the second one is not a full 16x slot and some of it is disabled because I am using other stuff on the motherboard and all CPU vendors are stingy with PCIe lanes unless you go threadripper.

I was hoping that the remaining lanes would have it work but perhaps not at a full 10gig, but it just seems to get errors in device manager. For the price they were, I am not too worried about further troubleshooting and will keep them for another machine at a later time. Really wanted a SFP+ card anyway, but this was so cheap it was worth it.

Bought this two channel power amp for a specific use I have and chose the cheapest option,

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006082895467.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.22.2d121802vv2Yqj

But when it arrived I found out why it was the cheapest option - it didn't have the power supply!

So went online and ordered the appropriate power supply

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006082895467.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.22.2d121802vv2Yqj

and was really surprised that it arrived in 2 days from the time I placed the order. It came in NZ Post packaging so I guess there were some already in NZ in a warehouse?  Call me impressed and pleasantly surprised.

What motherboard are you using? I've seen a few where the second 16x is electronically 4x and shares its lanes with the M2. If you use the M2 port the 16x slot is disabled.

Its a gigabyte 8/9th gen thing.

Slot works fine with my HBA in it, and I am not using all the m.2 slots - just one of them and the satas for the game drives, which I found were the reason that the machine was lagging madly when I tried to do any gaming. Turns out that one of the sata plugs was barely holding in there and it fell out when I opened the case up to do the nic swap over - replugged into another port that seems to hold it better and the storage space is back to working at full speed with no lag, and steam is happy to download again. Only been 6 months since I last gamed on it. Lol.

Is anyone finding absolutely weird stuff with their order tracking recently?

I have them all go to the PO Box, and normally if I track them on NZ post they will arrive in the country on there, and then get to the PO Box the next morning or 2 mornings after.

Now it seems that they are disappearing somewhere for a week - aliexpress shipping shows that its in the country or handed over for collection, but nothing at all from NZ post and nothing in the box when I go. Week later it might be there.

And for one today that had a Singapore post tracking number, I have a notification to my aliexpress email address from gosweetspot about my parcel with a post haste tracking details in it. So no idea how that is going to get to the PO Box.

Had a similar experience, SG post tracking, then it vanished for several days, then a completely different tracking number shows up and it was delivered the next day.  There's only been one of those so far though.  They did send me a coupon for the fact that it wasn't delivered on time, so I think even they are having problems with the tracking.

I've got a few orders and I have no idea where they are. AliExpress says "Left from departure country/region" for both, but Singapore Post says "Item En Route to Postal Facility" with the update time before they left China. Rather strange.

Anything tracked as SG Post has always been incredibly slow in the past, even worse than Yanwen and Sunyou.  It could be just bad luck that a batch of orders have gone via them instead of the normal, pretty good, carriers.

Also, does anyone know why SG Post would be the carrier for shipments from China to NZ?  I can't imagine that a transit through Singapore would be more efficient or cheaper than the direct Shenzhen -> NZ route.

Some of them are coming quickly as normal and tracking as I expect them to, with nz post tracking showing it as it makes it thru export clearance and all the other things, these ones are just showing untracked on nz post, and when they do arrive they have had an additional number added at some point that I can only find on tracking by going into the tracking page on aliexpress. The one on the order page is just a dead end for tracking.

Parcelsapp.com is a great site when the tracking number changes. I’ve had a few orders where the original tracking number changes.

Bought an AXA Quick Change tool post from the little machine shop in LA, got shipped overnight to me (I am currently in Anaheim) so now how to repack my suitcases to take into account off the weight.

We had booked for 2 extra suitcases for the trip back so should not be a space issue :-)
