The protestors are actually more like the .0025%.

Somebody should be taking their names and addresses so they can be sent bills for the repair and restoration of the public spaces they're wrecking.

As for the video snippets, seems to me those protestors are worse than the mainstream media when it comes to portraying items out of context.

In desperation I visited this site http://www.occupyauckland.org/ to find out what would have to be changed in NZ to make them go away.

So with all this grievance, what is the goal? What outcome would deem this a success? How is his 1% disproportionate control measured and what is the target proportion?

I visited the site on Wednesday with the hope of some clarity, and after the spitting and swearing I was no closer to an answer, and the intimidation tactics made me realize they don't have anyone interests at heart but there own.

Occupy, you fill me with nothing but distain, I have attempted to find some redemption in your existence but have concluded that there simply isn't any.

What do you want??!? How much more tax will I have to pay to make you go away? When you stop destroying our public space?

My wife works in the town hall and is subjected to their pathetic efforts everyday ;( What i find interesting is that most of these protesters have been going home each night to their warm houses probably free loading off their parents whom they are technically protesting against

Whaleoil made a brilliant suggestion last week, something along the idea of dawnraid them, arrest the 5 protesters that actually sleep there overnight and clear all the leftover stuff into skip bins, live happily ever after

What do you expect when Minto and his followers were the ones who set it up in Auckland..

Hey all,

@lyonrouge Why don't you go educate yourself before posting rubbish like how much more tax do I have to pay and that they destroy public places. WTF?? Try getting your little head around this and understand what it's about because right now you're really too ignorant to make intelligent conversation on this one. If it's all just too much for you then there's some basic, easy to understand video clips down the bottom of the page. Find it at occupyedinburgh dot org and if you can manage it, navigate to information. Oh and before I get picked up on it - I know it's from another city however the information on occupy itself is valid worldwide. By the way - the one percent thing? If you haven't bothered going to check it out yourself, I'll let you know - the one percent represents the number of people with the majority of the wealth. Saying that it's more like 0.0025 or whatever sounds more like a pro-occupy statement. How can something make you this angry? Does your ignorance frustrate you by any chance!?

They're doing no harm by being there (like grass will never regrow? come on..) and yes crimes happen in urban areas everyone, why should a campsite in a city centre be an exception exactly? Are those reports even from reliable sources? It's a peaceful protest and their cause is extremely valid.

It may be a peaceful protest, but really the personal attacks here are unnecessary.

This seems a bit too much of a "me too" way of thinking. "America's doing it... so we should to!"

I'm all for changing things for the better, but so much of this is misguided and futile..

Well as I'm speaking as a supporter of occupy I really wasn't the first person throwing stones. To be fair I was taking the piss a bit without intend to offend.
Everything in the world started some where - you use the internet, don't you? Does that really mean that you must have created it or what? Occupy Wall Street has spread so far because it is affecting so many places around the world. I'm British and the UK was hit very hard by the recession.

Excuse me, but you can make your point without attacking people. In this forum you are welcome to attack ideas, but never the person behind the ideas.

Like it or not, this is how we run the thing here.

Lol. Yeah whatever, I read the guidelines and I do not think I have violated them. You're familiar with the term taking the piss, right? I did say that's what I was doing there, right?
Oh - what if I say that I hate anybody who opposes occupy? That's less direct but still an attack on personal belief, so why beat around the bush.... I'm blunt, ok? Deal with it.

We can be blunt too. So make sure you stay within the lines drawn, or your account is banned.

You're doing a terrible job at promoting your ideas, being rude and obnoxious isn't a necessity.

Can't say many people would have the time to stop an listen to someone speaking in such a manner.

Which would therefore have detrimental effects on your cause.

And just so you know, no I didn't create the internet ;)

And I'm British too, not that it matters at all :\
