Interstellar 7.5/10

Finally got around to watching this and the 3 hours wasn't a chore, enjoyed the story but got a little strange at the end. You can interpret the ending as you choose it seems, but that's Nolan's style right.

Bohemian Rhapsody. An enjoyable flick about Freddie's life.

Watched The Prestige for the first time without knowing anything about it. I knew something was up, but still did not guess it.

Watched Victoria & Abdul in the weekend...a surprising and somewhat entertaining watch.

I didn't really understand how desperately lonely she'd be come in the end...but fully knew how despicable the English were to anyone not from the motherland.

8/10

Widows - Was reviewed quite highly. I did enjoy it, sort of, but it's a pretty dark story with some pretty disturbing violence. 7/10

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs NF 8/10

A Coen Brothers movie made up of 6 separate unrelated stories set in the Wild West, some comical, others serious. Quirky and entertaining as most Coen Bros movies are.

Same movie, better animation?

Still the typical Disney everythings happy and then we're gonna kill your parents plot line wink

Don't think the English have changed much in the last hundred years then. The Windrush scandal and Brexit comes to mind.

And yes I speak as a Englishman

Bohemian Rhapsody.. 9/10.. not even that big a Queen fan, but watched it with someone who is, and it's bloody brilliant.

The Happytime Murders.

Yeah, I was bored.

Don't ever get that bored.

Interesting concept screwed up badly.

Also Mission Impossible Fallout.

It was...Impossible to finish. Got 40 minutes in and gave up. I think Simon Pegg should stick to proper comedies.

The Meg.

Yawn, but better than the other 2.

Gladiator

Still enjoyable.

It was on Black Friday special so now own it for under $5! Also have the DVD (It was one of the first DVDs I bought when it was released, because of the amazing surround sound), and the BluRay.

And finally,

Carl Barron: Drinking With A Fork.

One of the best stand-ups around. Hilarious!

Google Play credit is a good thing when you have a broken toe and can't take the boat out :D

Valerian and the City of a 1000 Planets 7.5/10

Visual sci-fi feast from Luc Besson that lacks that x-factor that Bruce Willis and the rest of the cast brought to The Fifth Element

Rewatched State of Play 2009 movie on Netflix tonight (7/10 ). This is a typical USA rip off of an extremely good UK 6 part mini series of 2003 of the same name. Which I gave 9/10.

USA version = When a congressional aide is killed, a Washington D.C. journalist starts investigating the case involving the congressman, his old college friend.

Russel Crowe & Helen Mirren & Ben Affleck

UK version = In London, a naive young politician becomes a suspect when his female assistant and mistress is killed in a suspicious accident. The politician's investigative journalist friend and his team uncover a government conspiracy.

John Simm & Bill Nighy & James McAvoy

Don't get me wrong both are good but the original UK is just streets ahead. These political intrigue thrillers the USA always seem to struggle with, perhaps because it is all too real, too often and too close to home for them it just becomes another "Airport Trash" novel.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Could have been an OK film if it weren't for the two leads who were dull as doorstops.  And for some reason Dane DeHaan was emulating 90's Keanu which was odd.
