It is always nice to be wanted. Unless you are wanted by Europol.

Power meter replaced with new Bluetooth programmed one, with all the remote "smarts" you possibly don't want!
If it turns your power off and they can't remotely turn it back on, they have to replace it!
(Tech said "Yes - It does happen"!)
Replaced within my UPS's (Multiple) runtimes.
All clocks done. (3 of 4 were battery backed up) Microwave, Stove, Pond U/V filter etc done.
Very happy after restarting the non power backed up items, hmmmm wonder what I have forgotten?
Tinkerisk:I was unexpectedly offered another career today.
Does it involve sitting in front of an ATM feeding in bundles of $50 notes? I'd be a bit careful with that one.

No, the salary is cashless, but there you say something. They also said I was qualified just because of the Walther and the Glock. ๐

P!nks new album. I wasn't a fan of her or her Music when she first hit the scene but I am impressed with her latest stuff.
Ge0rge:The very visible mental and physical relief shown by a young lady yesterday. She has been acting as coordinator for an isolated community that we only managed to reach by road yesterday. At the sight of us and the supplies we had brought them, she hugged me, and then burst into tears, refusing to let go.
To be fair, this did more than make me smile, and I'm still choking up a little bit now as I write this.
Made me smile, and then a little sad. I miss my German Shepherd who died after the second lockdown when I wasn't with him.
I wanted a German Shepherd since the day my primary school visited the police academy and they did a demo with the Dog handlers.
Far out it's dusty in here.

Unlike Inspector Rex, border collies actually are intelligent!

Tinkerisk:When I was starting out I always thought those in IT were all nerds like myself where when we're at home sometimes it's like we're still at work. I found it unfathomable to find people that are working in IT that have no care for it at least outside of their job.

For myself it just seems natural to be working in a field that's also a hobby but the obvious flip to that is most people prefer to take a break when they're at home. There will be fitter-joiners and carpenters for example that hardly have a workshop at home, for example and then there will be ones that get home and immediately continue their project for their youtube channel...
Having a job that mirrors your hobby may ruin that hobby for some but I don't find that myself.
Then you have builders who live in unfinished houses for most of their lives. My father was a builder, we moved maybe 9-10 times in my childhood. The only time our houses were finished were they day my parents sold them.

I know what you mean and it can be the case. I see it the same way as you, I could never understand why my fellow students never soldered anything together themselves, but we wanted to become electronics engineers. The point here is to already have the current IT knowledge for this and to pass it on to others as a lecturer (the actual task and the missing 5% - not to be underestimated). I see it more as a "paid" honorary position.

MadEngineer: Damn onions.
If you mean their processing, I have a tip for you to breathe only through your mouth instead of your nose when cutting the onions. This reduces the effect. If you mean by-products after consumption, I have no special advice for you. ๐
