Ge0rge:
So far, 2000 tyres, 17 vans, two trucks, eight trucks and a range of other items had been removed from the property.
Whatever - it sounds like a F1 relocation.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
Here we go again
"Smoke seen coming from crater of Mt Wellington in Auckland"
https://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/360472396/smoke-seen-coming-crater-mt-wellington-auckland
has subsequently been wound back to "Smoke seen coming from Mt Wellington in Auckland"
Meanwhile over the Herald, one of the remaining adults has written
"Large grass fire at Mt Wellington Domain in Auckland"
https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/large-grass-fire-at-mt-wellington-domain-in-auckland/X2Q2UILTDRDSBENCADNOL23JIU/
Come on, NZ Herald.
Are they supporting the proposal or opposing it?
I read the article, but I don't know.

I believe the Melbourne Cup pullout in NZH today, used by offices all over the country for sweepstakes, is cocked-up. Wrong numbers and jockey names etc. Brilliant! However whether that means it can’t be used for sweepstakes is unclear as yet.

RNZ: "It's a little under a month until the US presidential election[...]"
This is because they've dredged up an article from October and posted it on their front page unedited.

1024kb: today, some confusion exists @ NZ Herald, between lawyers & cafe workers *sigh*
https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/christmas-appeal-toi-ohomai-barrister-students-back-with-cans-for-coffee/EYAD2OYX7RCGLEOTDY2OJA6M7Y/
I don't want barristers making me coffee - it'd taste like crap and cost $675. Same as I don't want baristas representing me in court.
NZ Herald: Sultan of Brunei’s extravagant ‘floating palace’ touches down in Auckland
Includes this picture:

A quick Google image search reveals that it is actually a New York bar.
Seriously, that image shouldn't pass any sort of sniff test by anyone looking at it!
This does not pass the sniff test :
The Guardian - Rare corpse plant expected to begin blooming in Geelong this afternoon
At the Geelong Botanic Gardens, a rare corpse plant is expected to begin blooming this afternoon.
Also known as amorphophallus titanum, the corpse flower only blooms once every 10 years or so. The bloom lasts only 24 to 48 hours, with a powerful smell released – likened to rotting flesh.

While we're at it, floating palace? Last I checked, planes flew, not floated.

You can't be too hard on the Herald that image does show up on a lot of sites claiming to show the Sultan's jet. The Goldbar in New York has closed, it is highly unlikely but who knows where the furniture and fittings ended up 😁

I'm no expert, there are fire sprinklers on the ceiling - I rather doubt fire sprinklers would be included in an aircraft fit-out.
Seems to be very poor copy-paste effort by some journos.

Also the Sultan of Brunei is, by my reckoning, a Muslim, so artworks depicting human forms are strictly forbidden.
Picture is Fake News, to coin a phrase
Herald jumps in boots and all and decides to amplify social media curtain twitchers,
First we get,
"The eagle eyed woman behind the post, who asked not to be named, came across the pair having intercourse while she was on a run.
“Luckily, I didn’t have my kids with me."
but then she goes on to say
"The woman said she made the now viral online post because she thought “someone might have been cheating on someone”."
Oh, So it would be fine for her kids to see them "rolling in the grass" it if they shouted out "We're Married"- sheesh...
