Herald jumps in boots and all and decides to amplify social media curtain twitchers,

First we get,

"The eagle eyed woman behind the post, who asked not to be named, came across the pair having intercourse while she was on a run.
“Luckily, I didn’t have my kids with me."
but then she goes on to say
"The woman said she made the now viral online post because she thought “someone might have been cheating on someone”."

Oh, So it would be fine for her kids to see them "rolling in the grass"  it if they shouted out "We're Married"- sheesh...

It would be fine regardless of their relationship. Sex is natural and normal. If only adults would quit warping children over this.

Right up there with the complainant in the case of the cop (irrelevant really) having sex with someone in a car in a carpark.  Complainant "felt unsafe".  Umm, lady, they are not paying the slightest bit of attention to anyone outside of the car.  How T F do you feel unsafe you absolute womble.  Two people having consensual sex is rarely dangerous to others.

NZH headline today:

“Official advise warned against commercial fishing in Hauraki Gulf protection zones”

Pathetic.

From The Guardian:"Gisèle Pelicot rape trial: children tell of ‘devastation’ caused by their father"

Hmmm. No. Dominique Pelicot is on trial. That headline alone should be the dumbest thing I've seen on The Guardian.

Do you mean "not on trial"?

Edit: Sorry - my mistake.

For avoidance of confusion Dominique is a unisex name in French. In this case we would normally expect to see Dominic as father's name.

The husband, Dominique Pelicot, is on trial. The wife is the victim. Why is she on the headline?

Gisele Pelicot is remarkable, Dominique is just another scumbag.

Big fail from the Grauniad.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/home-property/360490168/winston-peters-former-multimillion-dollar-luxury-mansion-sale

Click bait? Much, I'd say.

I wonder how long it was since he lived there? I'll bet it wasn't worth anywhere near that value when he lived there.

I have to wonder that the headline is a mischievous attempt at portraying his assumed affluence when in fact the value of this property has no bearing what so ever.

I don't have much time for Winston but I also don't like this sort of mischief, if indeed there is any.

it might take some preservation to get children to eat their vegetables

Is there some meaning of "preservation" that I'm not familiar with, or is this the worst misspelling of "perseverance" ever?

Maybe they are extolling the virtues of preservatives. Kids gotta love those tinned green beans!

Given that the accident occurred at Tirau, the SH1 bit seems accurate - it's more like Tirau is not in the Bay of Plenty 😬
