Valerian and the city of a thousand planets, on Netflix. Luc Besson, not at the same level as Fifth Element, but an interesting journey. I liked it, despite some people's comments to the contrary. I give it a 6.5/10.

Watched Iron Sky 2..... omg... I thought it couldnt get worse. :D Love the dig at Apple users ;)
Again, 7/10 because its so bad :D
Its like those great old SciFi movies, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! or Attack of the Crab Monsters. The were so bad they have now become 'Cult' movies.
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Get over yourselves and move on.
Unnecessary.

I was off sick last week so had a crack at John Wick on Netflix to see what all the fuss was about after a niece raved about #3.
Biggest waste of 2 hours in my life. I'm not even going to bother giving it 0/10.
But then in my dopey "I don't want to get off the couch" state I decided to watch John Wick 2.
I wont be looking out for #3 I can tell you.
I'm not gonna throw shade at you as I watched 1 & 2 based off raving maniac reviews of part 3 and the series as a whole and i thought 1 was good for what it is, 2 was ok'ish, am I looking forward to 3? Not gonna go out of my way to watch it put it that way.
Honest review 8/10 for 1 and 7/10 for 2 for me. it is what it is and thats a good old action movie.
I watched that Emily Blunt movie last night with the wife (her choice), the one where she is on a train and some blonde lady goes missing and it has that guy who plays Owen Shaw in the F&F movies, it was that bad for me I can't even remember the title.
The Girl on the Train, funnily enough.
Yeah I couldn't stand it. Pretentious and way over acted.
Spiderman - Far from home. 6.5/10
I just can't warm to Holland as Spiderman and MJ did nothing for me this movie (Kirsten Dunst on the other hand......)
I am not sure why they have spent so much time with Spiderman being "sensitive" I much preferred earlier iterations...
Saw it on Imax, but I think they missed opportunities to show it off.
Glad I saw it, probably wouldn't watch it again any time soon.
The Devil's Rock... Was looking for Iron Sky on Amazon to watch it after the comments here and found this movie in "Related". It's a New Zealand movie, made in 2011 - filmed just here in Wellington's own Wright's Hill fortification. Interesting story linking Nazis, the occult and obviously an escaped demon. It was ok - 6/10 for being a local movie.

Shaft on Netflix.
Sequel to the 2000 reboot, and despite the terrible reviews I thought it was a definite improvement.
Thoroughly unbelievable, but was just a lot of lighthearted fun and the cast were obviously having a good time. Samuel L. Jackson was great.
7/10

Might look that one up myself :)
Let me know what you think of Iron Sky ;)

Yesterday.
Went to the movies with the family and came away feeling very pleased that I had. It's uplifting and fun, light hearted and a bit silly with some genuinely funny moments and a feeling of "this has to have been written by the Love Actually/Four Weddings team"...which is partially correct.
If you're a Beatles fan and like a good English feel-good movie, I'd recommend it
The final quarter was a little rushed, but apart from that, it's a thoroughly enjoyable flick.
9/10
Handsome Dan Has Spoken.
Handsome Dan needs to stop adding three dots to every sentence...
Handsome Dan does not currently have a side hustle as the mascot for Yale
*Gladly accepting donations...
Can someone recommend a movie please.
I watched "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" recently on Netflix after having put it off as it didnt look my cup of tea. However it wasnt half bad. The costume and makeup design was 10/10. The effects were 9.5/10. The storyline Id give a 7/10. The acting was probably the weakest part, some actors better than others as usual, but overall Id give them a 5/10. A great movie to watch if you want some eye candy without having to invest too many brain cells thinking things over. 6.5/10 overall imo
Im up to date with the star wars etc.
It doesnt have to be "Space" based movie, just something awesome to watch without having to invest too much too much thinking, Much appreciated.
