I quite enjoy some violent movies - love Tarantino's stuff and I thought Wick 1 and 2 were OK.

But that last offering? Sheez!

For me, the most irritating aspect of this show (and the most depressing) is the degree of popularity it's garnered. Even among supposed adults.

And we wonder why the world is so screwed up.

And puzzle over how lunatics like Trump and Johnson can gain and worse, retain, power.

Definitely no countries for old men.

Berlin Syndrome 7.5/10

Thriller about Aussie backpacker who inadvertently runs into a psycho in Berlin and ends up paying a heavy price.

Starts slowly but builds up quite an atmosphere.

Cop Out 5/10

Very average Bruce Willis wisecracking cop movie from 2010. Misses the mark most of the time.

The Professor and the Madman 7/10

Quite interesting and entertaining, I enjoyed it but the other half went to bed about 40 minutes into it.

Blinded by the Light.

I tried hard to like this, after all I like Springsteen. But I couldn't buy in. Nothing original in this, paint by numbers schmaltz.

Holmes and Watson (Sky Movies)
Perhaps not the worst movie I have ever seen, but it certainly ranks right up there with cinematic greats like Jupiter Ascending as being close to the worst.
Wasn't expecting much and received even less. Glad I didn't pay additional money to watch this. 1/10

Brutal movie, good performances all around. I think it strode a nice balance of telling a story of the brutality of the war without glorifying it too much. What those guys went through, knowing there was a high chance of being cooked alive in a giant metal coffin....

Watching it on UHD blu-ray, the soundtrack was awesome. Makes me wish I had surrounds and a proper subwoofer though. And a bigger screen...

Solid 8/10

I enjoyed it, but then I know the difference between a movie and reality. Guess I am not an adult then... But then again my favorite movie of all time is a 2 hour long car chase, so what do I know?

I can't remember where I saw it, but someone compared the story of the John Wick movies to older Japanese samurai movies, which I thought was quite apt. Obviously with more modern levels of violence and flash.

I didn't enjoy it as much as the first two, so I hope they change it up a bit for the next one (I'm assuming that there will be one based on the ending).

Been on a couple of long plane trips lately and this was my viewing.

Rocket Man - 8/10
Red Joan - 7/10
Aladdin - 7/10
MIB: International - 6/10
Avengers: Endgame - 7/10
Deadpool 2 - 7/10 (repeat)
The Secret Life of Pets 2 - 6/10

5 Feet Apart - 8/10 - A pair of teenagers with cystic fibrosis (CF) meet in a hospital and fall in love, though their disease means they must avoid close contact (5-6 feet apart). Being a retired paediatric nurse I have nursed these kids from initial diagnoses to adulthood and it depicts, quite accurately, their life struggles, highs and lows and losses, the therapies, the infections, nebulisers, vesting and physiotherapies, the IV's, CVL's and port-a-caths, the gastrostomy tubes, the scars, the o2, surgeries, the infection isolation, the survivor's guilt, and many others..

I thoroughly enjoyed this little gem. (and yes I am a romantic).

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Avengers: Endgame... When it came as rental on Amazon Prime. 5/10 for me. You have to suspend belief a lot more than other movies. Some of the things don't even make for good movie.

Finally watched 'It', I avoided it because it's a remake of what I thought was a good original, but glad I watched it, I really enjoyed it. 7/10. This Pennywise is much better than the original. Really looking forward to part 2 which opened this week.

Mad Max Fury Road 7.5/10

Watched this a few times now and it gets better for me as I didn't much like it first time round. It's the definition of an action movie. There isn't anything else in it.

Still think Thunderdome with Tina Turner is probably the best.
