Sicario 7.5/10 NF

Hadn't seen this before but was impressed with the ever present sense of danger. The first 30 minutes in Mexico were especially tense. Emily Blunt was pretty good in the lead role.

It (2017) 7/10 DVD

Pretty good attempt at the Stephen King horror story with very few changes from the original.

One of the very few movies I stopped watching - this one third of the way through: 6 Underground (on Netflix). What a disappointment - 4/10.

That's disappointing. With that cast and director, I would imagine they could have made something seriously special. I'll probably still watch it :)

I'm a massive Ryan fan from his days on 2 guys a girl and a pizza place and it's spin offs. I think he is very funny, and versatile.

what annoyed me was the blatant product placement, it was just so obvious .

That's Michael Bay for you.  They don't refer to his films as bayhem for nothing.

Heat - Prime Video - 8/10

Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Val Kilmer A group of professional bank robbers start to feel the heat from police when they unknowingly leave a clue at their latest heist. This is a great epic movie 2h 50min. Well acted, great script and action. extremely enjoyable.

The Shootout scene was amazing. I remember watching this at the theatre and remember hearing the bullets pinging all over the place.

Four upfront flags that watching this movie is likely to end badly:

1. Michael Bay

2. 41% Metacritic rating on IMDB.

3. Have you actually heard of this movie beforehand, anywhere? If no, there is a reason.

4. Michael Bay.

I know that technically 1&4 are the same point, but it's such a biggie, I thought I would mention it twice (to paraphrase Kryten from Red Dwarf).

It's been advertised as "The most Michael Bay movie in the history of Michael Bay movies", so I will go into this expecting explosions, slow-mo scenes in the middle of action, light flares of various buildings and vehicles, LOTS of shooting, explosions, a pretty girl or two, explosions, light flares and a pretty girl or two.

Oh...and I am not really expecting a plot as such.

Rise of Skywalker - did the midnight screening.

Amusingly what makes this last movie a lot better is it sets out to right the wrongs they made themselves with the Last Jedi.
I thought it a much better told and constructed movie than that piece of rubbish.

Not perfect, but definitely worth the watch.

I predict starwars the pre pre pre pre-qual.

As long as there is money to be made, they will thrash this franchise like a dead horse.

They've announced no more trilogies, so that's good at least.  Some good self-contained films would be great.

With Disney involved, I highly doubt that, but yeah it's being presented as the end of the Rey trilogy concept.

Not sure why these need to be trilogies anyway, but then maybe I've been in TV land too much nowadays (now a much more developed medium with more time for character development than a one off film).
