kingdragonfly: Even though New Zealand is obviously outside the UK, we might be unaffected directly. Global providers often apply uniform policies, so UK regulation changes might still ripple outward, as Apple has argued.

Behodar: We're now up to five ads before a YouTube video starts playing. How much further can they cram the wedge in?

I'm not seeing that on my tv streamer or android phone. I don't recall seeing it on my Windows desktop although I use YouTube there less frequently. Which platform are you on?

It was on MacOS, but although it happened a few times on Wednesday evening it seems to have returned to normal now. Maybe YouTube doing an experiment and seeing what they could get away with?

FBI: Let's get this Belarusian woman extradited to the USA on charges of selling US aviation parts to Russia
ICE: Let's deports this Belarusian woman who is in the USA illegally

Bets Russia is paying off someone in DHS to have this woman sent back so she won't tell the FBI how Russia got the parts?

I don't think they pay, rather they lean on others right up the chain and threaten to call in debts.

You say this like it's a bad thing! I know some people like to organise, and more time to do so is better. Isn't if?

Yeah, they are a good all year bun. Just because some people only want their fruity bun with a + on it once a year doesnt mean we all only do that.

I would quite happily eat a xmas pudding in march too.

Florida man who crashed stolen BMW told cops that he ‘teleported’ into it during arrest: The Independent

An unhoused man who stole a BMW and crashed it while driving 130mph claims he teleported into the vehicle while authorities arrested the man.
...
A witness saw a man who appeared confused get into the car.

“He kept asking for a light,” the witness said. “I thought, how does he have a BMW if he doesn’t even have a lighter for a cigarette?”
...
[after crashing the car] with blood running down [the thief's] face, the sheriff walks up to him and he says “I don’t know how I got in the car. I teleported. You saved me from the aliens"

I've seen the video. I'd guess he's on some horrible combination of drugs and/or combined with effects of methamphetamine psychosis after a very long period on meth and no sleep. Oddly, nothing I've seen indicates the cops actually tested the guy for alcohol and drugs.

Edit: malformation causing italics..

It's probably on the milder end of the Florida Man scale.
