Same here, the Magnum that we replaced the Typhoon with coped pretty well, no curtain of water pouring onto the deck any more as they overflowed. The only slight design flaw was that to get the leaf diverters in they had to put 100 -> 80 downpipe reducers on which are too close to the diverters and create a chokepoint for leaves, so will need a small run of 80mm above the leaf diverters to fix.

This may not be quite the best thread for this because it’s more something that I’m really looking forward to: a movie called Oppenheimer, starring Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) supported by numerous other big stars, will be released in July.

The Manhattan Project and J Robert Oppenheimer are subjects in which I’m really interested. Also I’m a big fan of Cillian Murphy. I’ve never been much excited about a coming movie ever before - but I sure am about this one. Can’t wait.

It looks like Murphy is capturing the haunted look of Oppenheimer very well.

Just saw this trailer. Bit concerned that it seems to contain a lot of cliche lines and will almost certainly be rah-rah-USA - but still very much looking forward to it.

I feel for those in upper Te Ika-a-Māui. Here in the bottom end it has not been too bad and early week we reached 23 degrees in Te Awakairangi however, this morning the weather Gods remembered  us and decided to dump a deluge.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

It largely feels like we've just lurched from one winter to another over the course of a year. Just some were slightly warmer than others.

BBC News - Blackadder's 40th anniversary celebrated with new stamps

12 May 2023

The 40th anniversary of BBC comedy series Blackadder is being celebrated with a special set of stamps.

The classic sitcom, which spanned hundreds of years of British history over four series, was first broadcast on 15 June 1983.

Now some of its most famous scenes have made it on to eight new stamps.

Assembling the construction kit "The Great Wave of Kanagawa" by K. Hokusai by Lego Art. I don't have an art museum, but it looks extremely good above the bathtub. 😆

Northern types who historically say they would never live deep south because it's cold and rains all the time.

It's been very very sunny autumn....

(sorry for the weather you have been having though)

I would jump on a flight and move South in a heartbeat. There's just very little work for me down there. We will retire on the South Island, we just haven't decided yet.

I'm sorry, you seem to have received incorrect information somewhere. You're supposed to move to Kerikeri (NZ's Florida) when you retire, not the South Island.
