Subtitles don't bother me. I am also a fan of Nordic Noir.
Have you seen Young Wallander? I enjoyed it. Two seasons and english speaking.
Invasion - Apple TV. Quite a weird one, but certainly quite tense. I can't actually recall the last time I felt more suspense in a TV series.
Alien: Earth - 8/10
My partner and I are caught up to episode 5 of this prequel series to the original Alien film. The first 4 episodes were okay, flicking between the various storylines, but feeling a bit disjointed. Episode 5 however was fantastic, sticking with just the single storyline and focussing on the details of the events that opened the first episode that it had previously skipped over. I think it helped that it wasn't trying to cover off developments in 2 or 3 stories, but instead focussed on a consistent set of characters and followed the chain of events that had only really been hinted at before. There's also a great moment involving a water bottle which has me looking askance at my own water bottle on my office desk...
Never Mind the Buzzcocks (2021) - 9/10
This is on TVNZ+. I've been watching this in the kitchen while I'm cooking, and it's fantastic. I was wary that it would fail to live up to the standards of the earlier show, but I needn't have worried. Greg Davies is fantastic as host (like he is on Taskmaster), and the team captains are great too. Noel Fielding is back, but Phil Jupitus is replaced by Daisy May Cooper. I'm vaguely aware of her but haven't seen much of her material. She has a very distinctive laugh, and she is always laughing on the show. But I don't find it annoying; if anything it highlights that everyone on the show is having a great time. I've watched about 4 episodes so far, and I've found myself laughing out loud many times, which is a pretty good sign for me. It's UK-centric, as you would expect, so many of the musos and comedians may not be as familiar to kiwis but I don't think this really gets in the way of enjoying the format. And good to see that it wasn't a flash in the pan - there were seasons in 2021-2024, so I hope that means it's going to continue on for a while.

Buzzcocks has been a pleasant return, but unfortunately as the third season kicked off, it just ended on TVNZ+.
I have no idea if it was cancelled in the UK, or if there's some other reason why TVNZ didn't continue with it.
I was a massive fan of the original and we used to watch it religiously when in the UK in the 1990's.

Very strange that this is the only episode available locally after Season 2:

Only Murders In The Building (Disney+)
Wife and I have been hooked into this one for some time. We're now well into season 5.
It's a great show, with wonderful actors, who seem to genuinely have great chemistry.
The constant cameos are often a real hoot, as many of the stars play up to their stereotypes.

Watching a few things at the moment and some are ending while others are just beginning:
Only Murders In The Building (Disney+) - as mentioned above
Acapulco (Apple TV+) - just finished the final season. Wife and I were on the fence about this final season, but we realised when it ended that we'd become quite invested in many of the characters, which is a sign they're doing something right. Great to find out how Maximo made his money, in the end.
Gen V (Prime) - the new season kicked off and it was a good one to start - typically bloody and horrific as you'd expect from the Boys Universe
Wednesday (Netflix) - it ramped up nicely and ended with an obvious plot for the new season (yet to be announced, but hopefully won't be 2 years away).
Mayfair Witches (Netflix) - typical Anne Rice fare - set in New Orleans and alternately filled with drama, fantasy and lusty scenes, it's...OK
Alien: Earth (Disney+) - still enjoying this and it's also ramping up the intrigue nicely, whilst delivering on the gore required of an Alien show
Peacemaker (Neon) - What can I say? I like this stuff.
Foundation (Apple TV+) - A good show that I feel needs longer seasons. Also needs to all drop at once. Weekly episodes for such a complicated series is hard to digest sometimes
Your Friends and Neighbours (Apple TV+) - really enjoying this as it races to a crescendo (up to episode 9). Oh how the other half live.
Invasion (Apple TV+) - also ramping up nicely
Looking forward to new seasons of:
The Morning Show (Apple TV+) - new season just dropped this week
High Potential (Disney+) - new season just dropped this week
The Reluctant Traveller (Apple TV+) - new season starts this Friday (Eugene Levy travel show)
Slow Horses (Apple TV+) - new season coming 24th Sept
Loot (Apple TV+) - new season coming 15th Oct
Palm Royale (Apple TV+) - new season coming 12th Nov

I have really enjoyed Acapulco. I hope it continues for another season.

I am definitely looking forward to The Morning Show and Slow Horses. I thought the first season of Palm Royale was a bit average as it oozed the American culture that I find quite grating, but I will probably give the second season a go.
Surprised with the story and production of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty. We give it a good 8/10. On Netflix.

Appears that season 4 is the last, but there are hopes for a spinoff
I enjoy scifi, but for some reason (probably female interference :D ), I missed a lot of stuff in the early 2000's.
So recently I finally watched Firefly from start to end. Loved it.
Then started with Farscape - I honestly didn't realize this was started in 99...... but I'm almost at the end of season one, and been enjoying it. Sure, its kinda tacky but its fun. :)

Just watched S1E1 of a new Netflix eight-part series Black Rabbit with Jude Law and Jonathan Jason Bateman. Very very good IMO.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

That'll be Jason Bateman. We're still getting through Ozark, but I'll add this one to my list, cheers.
Keep calm, and carry on posting.

Thanks - yes of course that’s right. Sorry my mistake - corrected my post.
