There was a Herald Sideswipe comment a couple of days ago, about a person who went to the movies - purchased a ticket in a nearly empty theatre.

A few people in the very back row, so she decided to plonk herself in the middle of the theatre.

Then she got quite huffy when a someone came in with the allocated seats and asked her to move, she was adamant in stating in the paper that there was a nearly empty theatre for the newly arrived to sit elsewhere at.

Not the bl00dy point - if you want a central seat, ask for it at the counter when you buy the tickets.

I'm quite particular as to where I sit - in the middle so I get the max field of view without it being overwhelming., and no fat head in the front, and no backseat kickers.

I go off-peak to enjoy these benefits, and not to have yakkers and rustlers around.

Another car accident today --- 4th in less than a year.

None my fault (rear ended  at traffic lights, hit from behind in slow moving traffic by man on cellphone, and a car reversed into me while I was driving)

Todays crash, my car was parked and some dope crashed into it.

My partner says she felt sorry for the person who hit us, but I'm fed up!!!!

Geektastic: The apparent impossibility of obtaining proper orange Halloween pumpkins in NZ.

People who get annoyed when they can't do seasonal things in the same month as in the Northern Hemisphere.

AFAICT it's not seasonal as never see the orange ones.

They are all machine made and have no idea on the rights on orig soundtracks so replace them with royalty free stuff regardless.

I bought some replacement window handles on the weekend. The type that goes on the right side of the window and is operated with the right hand is referred to as "left handed" on the packaging, and vice versa. Apparently they're named by the same people as "warm" and "cool" lights (for those unfamiliar, "cool" lights are at a higher colour temperature than "warm" ones).

But it would be left-handed if you were outside the window looking in....

Uh, if it's on the right side of the window, then it will be operated by the left hand.

Dial111: Facebook- the amount of negative content and commentators amazes me, I get that everyone has an opinion, but god damn!

I don't get it, my partner only uses facebook with friends and acquaintances as 'friends', and noone is malicious.

Maybe you need better friends?

May I add to that: smelly theatre food - particularly popcorn with a really strong oil/butter smell. Blech!
