Hay fever
People who don't flush public toilets after using them. Oh and piss on the seat.
Indian toilet paper rolls.
Huge diameter cardboard tubes wrapped with about 5mm of paper! What a waste. Especially in a country where rubbish is simply dumped outside in open heaps.
kryptonjohn: Weeds
+100
I didn't do any gardening over winter and now the back part of my section, which has bark on it, it full of weeds (I can't even see the ground there are so many weeds!)
I've never had so many weeds, I need to nuke em with something. Might need to start a weed-killing thread to share ideas...
Cones!!!!!
Why cannot someone with a modicum of intelligence and common sense be in charge of putting out cones and speed limit signs for road works????
Example 1: At the Ohakea Police Base, they have a digger (I assume) cleaning up drains and so on. This digger is at the edge of the seal, about 20m from the actual roadway, on the other side the concrete wall which separates the roadway from the Police area. This digger is apparently why there is a 30kph temporary speed limit on SH3. Let's not forget that there are a number of buildings and police cars routinely parked between the digger's location and the road.
Example 2: About 15 minutes further along SH3, there's a sign saying "Road works on side road". Fair enough; useful warning for someone perhaps. There's a digger about 100m down the side road, I guess also clearing drains, etc. Why then do we have cones and a 70kph speed restriction on *SH3*? Why not just put cones and speed limits on the side road itself?
Sensibly, all drivers on SH3 saw the ludicrousness of these limits and completely ignored them.
Chorus has dug up a section of footpath on my street. This resulted in ~10 cones on the road. After a week or two they disappeared, but have since returned.
And now it's time to nitpick.
frankv: 30kph [...] 70kph
People that measure speeds in "kilo pico hours". I may have said this before :)
D'oh. Check out the definition of vegetarian.

I'm unsubscribing from all the outfits that send me marketing email.
Most are pretty good, you just hit the unsubscribe link at the end of the email and it is either automatically done or you hit a confirm button. Sweet!
But, some NZ resident companies in particular seem to make it hard to unsubscribe.
eg, dominos NZ makes you complete vague picture captchas to unsubscribe.
And Ascent computers NZ --- they make me go through a confirmation email process!
I can top that; a (foreign) site wanted me to create an account before I could unsubscribe!

I did have something like this happen to me once too, sometime ago from a biggish company.
I was receiving unwanted emails, but they wanted me to sign into my account to unsubscribe to those emails.
But, i couldn't sign into my account as I'd lost my password. When I clicked the 'forgot password' link to get it reset, the system said my email address was not registered.
So, I tried creating a new account using that email, but then the system said my email was already registered.
Was most frustrating. Can't recall the company just now as it was a few years ago now.

If I get any marketing material from anywhere my first action is to attempt to unsubscribe but if I can't do that within 30 seconds then I just block all incoming mail from that sender.
Today's grizzle is with trying to update some third-party software. The highlighted line in particular, although the next two aren't much better!
