That in 30-odd years, the band Mudhoney went from grunge/punk classics like Touch Me I'm Sick, to this touching little gem of a song.

Once every few months the bakery down the road gives everyone here at work a bunch of vouchers for free food. Yesterday when I brought a small punnet of chips after a bit of small talk he spotted my employer’s branding on my jacket, called it out and gave me a voucher for a chicken burger. Went down a treat for morning tea today :)

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.

That really made my day.

I like Mudhoney and I have a little dog.

THanks @BlueShift

A taster of the lyrical genius of that song for you all (verse 1) :

Sure they get wound up
Yeah they get wound up, but they're easy to distract
Just pick 'em up or give 'em a tasty tiny snack
They make me happy
They make me happy and I laugh when they howl
If you let 'em outside at night, watch out for owls

Both nice but the black and white one is special. Those eyes are so expressive.

Meh. Compare it to Deathmetalhammerslayerfistwarrior in their prime:

GraaghhhhH!!! Arggh grarggh! Graahhj!

Rrrooowwwgrrraargh! Mrowwwll mrraaagh!

Notice the inventive new arrangement where, although it follows the original 32-bar AABA structure, instead of providing a harmonic departure from the A section, the bridge resolves the rising chromatic pattern.

Don't tempt me, or I will put together a playlist of songs about dogs, from "Me & You & a Dog Named Boo" through to "Dogs Are The Best People", including the sad ones like "Jessie" by Paw.

Solving 3 things that were small but really annoying me yesterday!

At Xmas I decided to try and remove friction points from my life. Little things like squeaky doors, untidy or wrong length cables, old not fit for purpose stuff in the kitchen. It's made a big difference to my mental health. It's surprising how much impact 10 little things every day can impact your mood.
