Handsomedan:
I'd be hoping they do this as well as they did the fantastic effort of The Expanse.

It will be very  interesting to see how this plays out, If they head down the nostalgia path aka ST: Picard, then its probably doomed,

But the success of ST: Strange New worlds indicates that serialised Sci-fi is still a viable product,

Speaking of the Expanse, Amazon also claim to be developing he next book from "James SA Corey"  the Captive's War for TV,

Kookoo: Dark Wind. Really enjoying it. Robert Redford's swan song as a producer.

I initially mistook the FBI agent for Robert Redford. Looking again today I wonder if I was thinking of Paul Newman. Both of those guys are in Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid. It must have stuck in the cowboy part of my brain.

This actor isn't any of those guys ; )

South Park has introduced another Trump appointee into the mix. Brutal takedown.

Perhaps not coincidently, the same person may be being fired by Trump.

3 episodes deep into Season 2 of Landman.

I very much enjoyed Season 1.

So much so that I am preparing to perservere with Season 2 to see if it can pull itself together.

So far, too much focus on the lead characters wife and daughter, and not enough on the black slippery stuff.

I remember watching the first two seasons of Strange Things. Then interest dropped sharply halfway through Season 3. Couldn't be bothered with Season 4 or the new sensation...

I'm enjoying Mr Mercedes on Netflix. Its a Steven King produced/written series and it is as dark as you might imagine.

Early in series 2 there's a little supernatural stuff introduced which is turning off La Penguina but that type of thing is very much Steven King's forte.

Stranger Things Season 86, part 1, episodes 1-4.

So far it's been very much as expected, but it feels like a good conclusion may be coming.

And of course the next lot of episodes (Part 2?) are not due for a few weeks and then the final episode is later again...weird scheduling, but locking people into Netflix for "the holidays".

Pluribus

I can’t tell if I like it, it’s a very f?€ked up show. It’s very well made and beautiful to watch. It’s certainly got my attention.

The mini-series Asura by Palme d’Or-winning director Hirokazu Kore-eda is excellent. The director is known for the films Shoplifters, Broker, and plenty more.

Down Cemetery Road. It was ok, but formulaic. Give it a 6.5/10.

Agree with your assessment - don't know why it's taken so long since the last season.

A few other thoughts (mild spoilers):

  • What's with Hopper and Eleven going around killing people? Even set up a poor scientist to make soldiers think it was him so they would shoot him
  • And running around drugging and kidnapping families?
  • Is it me or is everyone really annoying this season especially Joyce who seems even more whiny. I quite liked Steve Harrington but he just seems to be a shouting idiot this season. Everyone else just seems to be running around like headless chooks
  • Linda Hamilton must need to pay some bills, after years of being out of the picture all of a sudden she's on our screens again (also on the excellent Resident Alien)
