Senecio:

it was a joke. One of my work colleagues suggested I park it there, take a photo and post it on our work intranet. It was quickly returned to the bike parking area after the photo.

I would have left it there, lots of people would have got a laugh from it and it's an EV so presumably perfectly legit to leave there while charging.

Receiving this: (Fraud covered in 2D / Annoy Threads)

"I’m so sorry to hear about your experience. I’ll get customer relations and the fraud team to look into your experience so we can learn from it.

The good thing is that, as you suggest, we have started to work across the industry, including the telcos, to see what further measures we can take to stop the scammers.

 Thank you for your feedback,

Antonia

Why don't you put that thing in the boss's car park - that would be a real joke! 😉

The CEO does drive a Tesla, but has a designated parking spot next to the front door. He wouldn't be seen out the back with the rest of us peasants.

As much as I detest TV ads, I do like a current McDonalds ad that shows two parents putting their kids to bed in an unseemly rush - so that the parents can get in front of the TV, without the kids, to chomp into some Maccas that’s been delivered.

Quite un-PC and very funny IMO.

Handle9: I had a phone call from a colleague yesterday. His brother is now unable to use his Rugby World Cup tickets and he offered them to me. I couldn’t say yes fast enough.

Flights and accommodation are booked so Paris in Autumn it is :)

Using my late fathers watch maker tool kit to adjust the bracelets on my new watches. Also changing batteries, cleaning the internals on my older watches. I could hear his voice telling me how to do it and to keep and delicate touch.

Oh and to keep the work space tidy and the tools cleaned after.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

GZ helping me to get connected to Slingshot... a big shout-out to GZ and especially the guys in this thread and especially @shk292 who had the exact right answer, and saved me from an hour of nasty telephone musick.

You guys rock!

Our NZ tax returns are done for another year.

The NZ government is enriched by around $1700 which actually seems decent value for me as an expat.

A big "room in use, do not disturb" sign on the door of one of the rooms at work, with the sound of a game of table tennis coming from behind it.

That's just a sound effect recording (maybe looped from Forrest Gump) to disguise what they're really doing.

What a difference a simple replacement of a 50ct 105*C thermal fuse for a 5L under-counter water heater makes? The landlord wanted to have it replaced since it was dead, but I'm glad that I was able to simply put it back into operation. In conjunction with a smart switch, I actually prefer it, and this quality of yesteryear can only be found in the space programme today - I like it‘s eco mode. 😄

I have to say - I smiled when I received my auto assessment notice and was (for the first time in a long time) getting a very small refund ($52).
Last year's bill shock of $3k is still hurting though.

Hopefully you didn't get charged another $3k in "provisional" tax like I did, only for them to give it back the following year!

My bill last year was almost $3k and I still don't understand it. I asked my employer if they made mistake in my deduction and they were adamant that they hadn't so I'm none the wiser that I got hit with such a bill? The previous 5 yrs of working for this employer my auto assessment was always <$1 and never recovered.
