I smile so much when I see this. I had an MGB GT when I was 18 I really need this new MG in my life. Now the hard bit convincing my lovely wife.

Darn you to Heck, @MikeB4

I have spent the last half an hour searching up electric convertible sportscars because of you. And now I have seen all manner of awesomeness that I'll never be able to afford.

To be fair - there's some sexy looking electric cars out there, if you look hard enough and have deep enough pockets.

That is stunning, now that is a electric MG that I could see myself driving.

Sort of related, after completing my electric Vespa conversion I've now decided that I need a electric Ape to complete the set. Now the difficult job of finding a suitable donor vehicle.

Just to be contrary, has anyone ever converted an electric vehicle to ICE? On the principle of human nature being what it is, I imagine someone somewhere must have done this.

Yes, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-6kHjF1U1E Rich rebuilds is probably the most known, there is also one where someone put a generator in the back to make it a hybrid.

How good would a modern MGB GT be (rhetorical question - we know it would be awesome)? Man I'd love to see that. If they kind of stuck to the original brief (but modern/electric).

The solid roof 1965-'74 MG MGB/GT remains a solid buy | Hemmings

For full authenticity, they could have an oil reservoir under the bonnet that randomly drops a liter or so over your garage floor! Along with a water tank that provides dripping from around the windscreen.

For Hutt City I prefer "Hutt City" because then people know what I'm referring to without having to pull up Google every time I talk to them.

I usually go for "Not Auckland", so people know I am talking about rural NZ.

That's a moving target. I grew up in rural NZ which is now Auckland.

Just give it time and everyone will be an Orklander.

I took my BMW in for service of an issue, and the new i4 M50 Electric in the same colour and spec as my car was there. They offered it to me as a loan car, but I politely declined. I may have struggled to give it back. It made the sales person smile. His comment 'oh you know that trick then?'.
