Just watched blackhat, on neon I think. Its about hackers so of course it has people feverishly typing on keyboards without ever making spelling mistakes or swearing about missing a control character from a command.

I think I need to get my hearing tested as I missed some of the dialogue. The other explanation could be actors mumble these days.

It's a bit average - 4/10.

Old Guard!

Don't really remember much about it.

There was some biffing and shooting, a goggle-eyed baddie and the rest is fuzz.

It wasn't so bad. The Old Guard was a good entertainment. Teenage daughter loved it, perhaps because of the female lead.

The Old Guard - 7/10

Enjoyed the movie.  Good action scenes. Really like the swift movements from the soldiers. The bad guy was a generic disappointment though.

Did anyone else realise that its Dudley from Harry Potter?

Looks like Christopher Nolan's Tenet will release internationally before the U.S.

Probably a good commercial argument for a release in NZ given that we can all go to the movies here...

I was reading that the studios have a concern around piracy, if this gets released outside of NA first...the box office is potentially going to get hit if people have already seen it via Torrents or whatever.

Personally, I think they would be better to release it to markets where people can go to the cinemas and make some money while they can. The US is toast for a long time...it'll end up on the shelf indefinitely if it doesn;t get released soon.

which version ?

i recently watched a grindhouse/raw scan of an original print of empire - so refreshing to be free of Lucas' later meddling.

a proper 4k scan is in the works, meanwhile scans of star wars and return of the jedi have been done and look amazing.

The Last Black Man in San Francisco 8/10

Made for US$2 million. Danny Glover and Rob Morgan in supporting roles. Brad Pitt had a role in production. Arty with wider appeal. Nice views and perspectives of San Fran. Best movie I've seen this year. Neon.
