Talking of MGBs, this -
"The Wide MGB's body is immediately recognizable as an MGB, although less than 10% of the original car remains."
That's wild.

Well that's not hard, you just look for the puddle of oil anywhere it's stood still for more than about ten minutes.
I'm mildly impressed with FIFA's ticket procurement for the WWC, the things that made me smile:
Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

- Only $40 for an adult ticket for group stage games. I'm going to see NL vs USA. that's top tier football right there.
- The price shown on the website is the money paid, no admin fees, no levies, no credit card surcharge.
- About an hour after I bought them I got a message from some out of town rellies saying they were going as well. I thought 'damn, wish I 'd waited so we can sit together'. Seats weren't actually allocated at time of purchase and the ticketing system allowed buyers to tie reference numbers together from different transactions, and they will try and sit you together. The actual tickets with seat allocation came through today and we do all get to sit together π, and our seats are pretty much on the halfway-line.
That's quality work by whoever FIFA has contracted for that. I know it can't be FIFA themselves because they're grossly incompetent, but that seems like a great ticketing experience.
Let's just hope you get better weather for your match than I did for the U20 WC when we went to a few games and got poured on in the outdoor stands at Nth Hbr Stadium.
Still a great and memorable experience.
I hope the fans turn out in force for the WWC - the crowds make the atmosphere and if you get South Americans or Eastern Europeans, they can absolutely go of (in all the right ways).

The crowds certainly do make the atmosphere at a football match, especially the South Americans. I was living in Brisbane in 2000 when Sydney hosted the Olympics. The Brazilian team played their pool matches in Brisbane and the games were played at the Gabba (cricket ground) as Suncorp stadium was undergoing a big refurb.
The start of one game had to be delayed by 25mins as the staff had to organise for 500 Brazilian fans who were seated in the 2nd tier of the stadium to swap with 500 fans who were on the lower ground tier. The Brazilian fans had brought their drums and were dancing and jumping around so much that it caused the 2nd tier of the stadium to flex in a harmonic wave. I was sitting on the other side of the stadium watching it all unfold and we could see the stadium flexing up a nd down. Pretty cool that they managed to arrange the seat swap so they could continue their dancing and jumping safely rather than asking them to sit down.

afe66:Having watched several of the men's u20 games in covered Dunedin stadium with great sightlines, I was quite disappointed in how poor north harbour ground was for the final... And all that rain.... Really poor for such a high profile event (ground not rain)
Got tickets for women's game in Dunedin too, love watching the miracle injury recoveries, whereby the player ring in agony suddenly jumps up and races after the ball after the game continues and no foul was awarded...

The insurance company made me smile today.
A less than 2 hour wait to talk to someone and then instant resolution to my issue.
Happy days.
