Then you haven't been paying attention. Before you ridicule people who have been paying attention, you might want to do some catching up.

Ever heard of Echelon? They've been listening to you for most of the past 20 years. Phone, fax and internet.

This is what Waihopai is all about. They listen to you...and the Americans get everything - in real time....for many years now.

This is not a theory. It is a proven fact and is well documented. You just haven't bumped into it before.

I'd be interested in some official and credible evidence to support your claims.

I would like to post a link for you but I do not have link posting privs. However, I would suggest that you visit the wikiP page on Echelon, look that the references and go the 5th reference. That is a report by the European parliament which investigated Echelon a few years ago. They conclude that it is real.

If somebody else would like to post the link then please do.

Save your breath, you won't get far trying to use common sense in a thread like this.

Just carry on with your life like I will comfortable in the fact that those that need to be listened to are and if the boundaries are occasionally overstepped for someone that should have never been granted NZ residency anyway so be it.

However, and this is important, always remember that what your detractors have read on the Internet is always more accurate and truthful than what you have read on the Internet. Especially the stuff about chemtrails and the 9/11 conspiracy.

Intriguing that you know, as you claim to, that they are listening to TheUngeek - sounds like he must be an interesting fellow. Also, if he has been in NZ for any time then he must be here illegally? Or are you claiming that they are listening to him illegally?

And they doing so for 20 years, surely they would have decided whether he was of a real security concern or not and if he lived here, deported him for overstaying?

Can you tell me if they are listening to me and if so why they would want to?

I'm sure we'll all be fine, they'll only listen in on the bad guys and John keys such a friendly looking chap and good kiwi bloke there's no way he's up to anything suspicious at all. You guys should just trust the government and go back to buying big screen tvs.

I am interested to know how the paranoid are able to explain how the station in Waihopai is able to capture and process the data transmitted via the Southern Cross cable.

As far as I am aware, the Waihopai station is near Blenheim and the Southern Cross cable lands near Auckand.

chevrolux: I think it is bizarre they aren't allowed to spy on NZ residents. There are plenty of people on NZ that are far far more dangerous than Mr.com and they aren't allowed to keep tabs on them. Ridiculous.

And know people will say we shouldn't have to 'live in fear' that people could be spying on us it but it truly is a case of be good and it wont happen.

That's what our SIS is for, domestic threats

Works fine for me! I have nothing to hide, so they can listen to me any time.

If you have something to hide, legal or not, I want someone able to listen to you and stop you doing something dangerous.

Same applies for airport security. Anything that stops someone getting on a plane with something they shouldn't have, regardless of how inconvenient, is fine with me. If they can see my bits well, good for them!

It's underground in the central city. You get to it via a payphone box and dialling a special code.
