BurningBeard:
I voted The Empty Child / The Doctor Dances.

The first time I heard "are you my mummy" was proper scary - like the show was for me when I was 8 years old.

The ones that really spooked me as a kid back in the day were The Green Death and Terror of the Autons. Nightmares.

For me, Blink. The Empty Child close behind along with Silence In The Library (disappointed that one didn't make the shortlist).

I may have to watch them all again to refresh my memory.

I didn't watch very many of the original series.

Some of you may have seen Clara... And The Doctor. Damn, having to wait until November 2013 for more Doctor!

Apparently a number of cinemas in the UK are going to show the 50th anniversary special in 3D on the same night it airs on BBC.
Event Cinemas here say they are looking into it (via facebook)

The Suspense is already killing me after that ending.

Do you know when it is going to be on BBC?

Overall I've found the pacing of the episodes in this season strange.
Moff has made things so I'm too afraid to look away for a second lest I miss something really important to the story arc.

My favourite is still the first episode.

What's been interesting is the chit-chat on the Gallifrey Base forums as to what Clara is. So far, I don't think anybody has got it. There's always one poster who says she's either River, The Rani, or a version of the Doctor. I don't think so.

Pretty out there but she could be the xth regeneration of the doctor's daughter and can't remember her previous regenerations.

That's been thrown about too. The flaw I see in that - Clara has died so many times now. Proper died. No regeneration. And if she had, surely all the Claras would be different?

I think she's somehow ended up scattered everywhere, along The Doctor's timeline in some wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey way. She doesn't even know it's happened.

Clara must have something to do with Rose - there are always "rose" hints in Clara episodes (names, vases of flowers, etc.).

At the end of the first "reboot" (Christopher Eccleston/9th Doctor) series, Rose receives the Heart of the TARDIS (and powers over time and space, and the ability to create life as well as destroy it). I think she, as the Bad Wolf entity, causes a version of Clara to be born (perhaps similar to how Jack Harkness was brought back to life?) so that Clara is wherever/whenever the Doctor needs her to be.

Hmm I actually doubt they have a too huge an over arching plan and just come up with cool ideas along the way and try not to make them contradict previous stories too much.

Conveniently time can be rewritten so it doesn't matter if they contradict previous "lore" too much either way.

Out of curiousity, has anyone actually seen the latest episode yet? Cause I felt it kind of answered the question pretty well unless I'm missing something (or got something that everyone else is missing)?

Yes I have seen the episode and I agree it answered the question pretty well.

I've resisted commenting on the theories in this thread because I don't want to ruin the surprise for those that haven't seen it yet.
