Just out of interest, has anyone had any experience with SelectaDNA? Did you get any of your stuff back or was having it a waste of time? It seems fairly inexpensive but is it really worth it?

Update:
No word from the Tablet app Android Lost !!
Forensics arrived this Pm.
Quick look around but they used gloves so no prints.
He showed my on the TV which they moved.

Looking at getting padlooks for a big gate in the driveway-slow them down a bit.
Plus Install a Wireless Security system running on 433 Mhz-there is another thread which is locked and Ive asked Mauricio to unlock from around 2008.

Did you have a monitored alarm? If not, worth looking into?

We rent too and there is an alarm installed.  Unfortunately has been more annoying than anything else as it had a flat(ish) battery for the entire time we have been here and has only just been replaced.

Good info about SNAP, but I'd really like my LL to put in deadbolts, and security latches on the window.  More needs to be done to encourage LL's to come to the party.  Being burgled sucks.

I was in a similar situation some time back. Alarm place (ADT I think) offered an alarm that had wireless sensors.. Meaning it could be taken easily if I moved. Dunno if any such alarm is available now. Could be worth investigating though?

We got a monitored alarm setup last year through ADT with wireless sensors and 3G connectivity. The wireless sensors take a few seconds longer to register movement compared to hardwired sensors. When armed, tampering with the wireless sensor triggers the alarm...

we are definitely looking into wireless systems now.
On another thread is a product promoted by Exodus Security- a bit more expensive than the Jaycar one.
Comes with Remote smartphone app too which may be usefull

Just got word today re the result of our insurance claim.
We are quite happy with the result to say the least.
Covering most things even some items that we did not have definitive proof of purchase.

We had an old Apple Macbook- the old Silver 13 Inch about 5 yrs old that they will pay out on at an amount $$ that we were happy with.
They will give us JBHIFI voucher to cover Video cam, still cam, Wii
Asus Tablet will get replaced by another company.

So all good

Sorry to hear this, I have been burgled twice, first time I was at home asleep on New Years day in Australia.

That was pretty scary but they knew where spare key was kept and exactly the layout of the house, so it was someone we knew well.

Second time was Waiuku, they smashed open the back door but took nothing of value, I think we actually came home when they were inside as it appears they left in a hurry.

I really hope somehow they catch these scum bags, thieve make me sooo mad!
