Oh, I'd be into this. I'm still rocking my first and only smartphone, the Huawei G300, a little frustrating sometimes, but great value. Would love to have a crack at a higher end handset or tablet even. I love the tech, just can't afford much of it. Ah well.

I have confirmed wasabi2k for the Nokia Lumia 1020 folks.

I am now working towards the Sony Z1 and Notes 3/Gear combo. Stay tuned.

Just a note for disclosure: people who receive smart devices in exchange for TelecomTech blog posts will keep their new smartphones, as well as $200 credit to their Telecom account (for those extra mobile data usage days during tests).

We obviously have so far kept things pretty separate as can be confirmed by other participants in the TelecomTech blog, and Telecom has very low if no influence at all in the outcome and the blog posts. It's a pretty transparent process and I can say it's been pretty good in terms of feedback and return for the Geekzoners and Telecom...

I've had a 1020 the last couple of days, mostly enjoying it (some OS niggles aside). Look forward to seeing the blog posts here!

I can confirm that what Mauricio says is true, even though I was one of the first with the HTC sensation, we were definitely free to write our blog posts however we chose. I'd be incredibly thrilled if I got to do it again as I use writing as a creative outlet and I love gadgets, especially ones that are a convergence of devices like the Note 3. So keen on the productivity/note taking features!

I would love to be a part of this. I'm not going to go into what tech I have had or have currently. All I would do is assess the technology and how it fits into a lifestyle revolving around my work, family and extra-curricular life. I can imagine lots of photos will be taken, music listened to, games played and other apps dabbled with. I would also have my wife (who is fairly techno-phobic) to give me contrasting opinion on how it desirable a piece of equipment it is to her. That is what I would do

This all sounds like a lot of fun.

I'm guessing that I don't qualify - as a mod, and as a housewife.

If the above isn't a problem and they want reviews from a very ordinary, middle aged housewife then I'm probably the perfect fit for the demographic!

<- don't ask me where I am - I haven't a clue: its a tech thing ;)
Housewife computerer: not particularly great at either.
And don't take me too seriously.

Impressive! Sony Z1! I can directly compare to my current Sony Z (also telecom version) - if selected.

Mods and housewives are people too...

Just ordered a 64GB MicroSDHC card which is UHS-1 compliant to replace my existing 32GB card that died, it'd be interesting to see if the Note3 supports the higher transfer rates of the UHS protocol.

It'll also be interesting to see how well Telecoms implementation of LTE works with the new device(s) although that'll be restricted to Aucklanders for a while assuming it launches up there next month as it's supposed to.

I'm keen as to give these a go.  I'd love to see what the next generation holds and I haven't yet experienced the Telecom network.  I've always had a Vodafone device so would be great to see how the other competitors perform.

I'm also more than happy to provide honest updates, blog posts and thoughts on how the devices perform!

Thanks all - the 1020 arrived this morning after I left for work so looking forward to having a play tonight.

Some areas I intend to write on:

unboxing/initial impressions/box contents

camera (amateur perspective, comparison with some others)

camera (prosumer perspective, from a photographer colleague)

non camera hardware - screen, shell, buttons etc

WinPho8 - from a WinPho 7 user, what is it like, compared to iOS and Android, enterprise features (MDM etc)

Happy to take feedback or suggestions on other areas.

Other suggestions
- Whats the app ecosystem like?
- How does it fare as a portable music player?
- Does it make a good portable gaming device?
- How well does it integrate into a non-MS based ecosystem? (may be hard if you're in a Windows environment)

This thread has fallen quiet. Any news on who are the lucky people to be selected?
