Folks... Here comes TelecomTech: another round with a number of smartphones (and other "gadgets" this time) coming to us to distribute for user reviews.

As in previous times, tell me what you would like to do, how, etc. I will evaluate participation here on Geekzone and Twitter before selecting a few lucky folks.

Smartphones include a range of Android (and gadgets) and Windows Phone devices

Oh man, I guess the Windows Phone is the 1020 (although even if the 925 that is still lovely hardware)...

I'll throw my name in the hat for this one!

I'd really like to give the cameras a real test with comparison to the best existing smartphone cameras, which fortunately I have access to :) I have the 808 so can give really substantial feedback about their relative merits to the (present) best in the business.

I'm really interested to seriously try Windows Phone and see how close it is to being daily driver worthy for me, I've held off a long time, but recent updates are bringing it ever closer to being a real contender I think.

Dare I ask what sort of non-phone gadgets are in the mix? :)

I'd love the opportunity to review some of the upcoming phone accessories and tablets, and provide an unbiased assessment of them from both a consumer and business perspective.

So the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Gear in the mix? They're both on the wish list for this side of Christmas if I can raise the funds, although I really wouldn't mind having a chance to evaluate the Gear before parting with the extra cash. Especially with the Gear 2 rumoured to be arriving in just a few months.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

My use case is reasonably unique around these parts in that I am leading the charge on technology convergence and minimalism by running a single device for all my communication, computing, photographing, navigating, music listening, video watching and the list goes on needs.

Having had both previous Notes and currently using an Xperia Z either new generation would give me a great chance to make well grounded comparisons.

I have followed the Galaxy Gear closely and I am well practiced in peer ridicule of my tech choices as long as they work for my situation - I have a feeling the Gear is the next device that will put me in that place :-)

I should mention that I have a lot of perspective to offer on the 1020, being a Nokia guy from long ago cutting my teeth in the smartphone world with the N95 and then moving through the N95 8GB, N82, 5800, N8, N9 and recently the 808 :)

I still have my venerable N82 as well, should make for a fascinating foray into the development of Nokia's imaging prowess...

Would be very keen.

I'm a Windows Phone person since they were released, we're a mixed household with Apple, Android and Windows Phone. Also have a Nexus 7 and have been mulling the change over to Android.

Currently looking to switch to Telecom from Voda as my contracts are up and Voda's coverage and performance has been average.

Very tech focused (professionally and as a hobby). Daily consumption of everything on Verge, Engadget and various other tech sites. Not much of a photographer so if it is the 1020 probably not the best guinea pig. Have a fair bit of experience writing for both work and blogging (www.wasabi2k.com).

I'm in West AKL and work in the city. Commute daily so plenty of time with my phone.

I am also very keen to be considered.

Been more of an active reader than participant on the forums lately.

I am usually an early adopter of new technology, that is when I can see a use and benefit from it.  We currently have a range of Smartphones, Tablets and Watches (Nike+ GPS) in our house, so I would love to compare the form, features and usability of any of these devices compared to my current devices.

These devices have some real benefits to me in business and my personal life.  While I can be more accepting of flaws in features and usability, I have the added bonus of a support review team at home who are not.  My wife is quick to point out when something does not work as described or when features are not intuitive or easy to understand.   My kids are growing up in a world where technology is part of every day life.  They are quick to work out what works well and what is not easy to use.   If I was to put all the devices on a table they can tell me which is best for anything they want to do from gaming, internet, video, etc.

If anything is ruggedised or toughened I am your man for testing that for sure.

My phones hit the deck more often than anyone I know and they get rained on, mud on and all sorts just in the course of my work!

I'd be keen to throw my name in the hat. I'm a long time iPhone user and would be keen to give something Androidy a shot (not so much Windows as have tried that recently and it doesnt do what I want). Currently use my iPhone 5 heavily with MS Exchange integration with my SBS server at home, and the last time I tried Android ( a while ago) it just seemed like it wasnt at the same level as IOS. Also rely heavily on the Synology apps on my iPhone as well as VPN, Air Video, Spotify, Kindle and other apps so my main evaluation / comparisons would be how Android compares to IOS for these kinds of tasks and applications. I feel a bit bored with IOS so if an Android handset can match it then Ill happily swap.

Regarding the Gear and Note 3: I would really love to see scottjpalmers take on those as a converged device ecosystem for the extreme minimalist. Bighammer also deserves a shot I think, I'd love to see his perspective on progress in the mobile arena since he purchased his last phone (Galaxy S2!).

I think I'd like to give Windows Phone a go as I've basically used Android for all of my Smartphone life. I would especially like to compare the large sensor performance of the Lumia 1020 to the HTC One which is my current smartphone. Also keen to give the Note 3 a go as I am forever taking notes and drawing diagrams by hand as part of my job as a Business Analyst so want to give using a digital device for this purpose a go and the Note 3 is pretty sweet when it comes to pressure sensitive stylus using.

I promise lots of cool cat videos if I get picked :)

sure! i'm user focused with a mix of tech. some reviews are so techy the average joe has no idea whehter the phone suits them. some reviews are so journalistic everything is "amazing" the average joe has no idea whether the phone suits them.

of course i can't tell any more it's my secret recipe!

If it has a button, knob or dial (or a touch screen) then send it my way...... It will figure out exactly what it does well and what it does badly!

Count me in! :-)

I'm familiar with iOS and Android, and I'd love to see what Windows Phone has to offer. As I have no real experience in that area, I'd be in an excellent position to compare and contrast to the two most popular smartphone platforms.

I would love to participate in evaluating a phone or device. Hopefully an Andriod phone or tablet-of-sorts so I can put it through it's paces for usability, friendliness and connectivity (incl remote). I would use it as my day-to-day work comm's device to see how it performs.
