It would go to the inlaws to replace the empty shelf!

Having a good media player & USB support built in looks good to me.X

For me it would replace a horrible old device that was so awful we stopped using it. No idea what brand or model it was.

Looks like a good unit. Wouldn't be replacing anything, would bring my big old 40 inch Sony back to life as it has no dvb-t receiver. That and I don't have a terrestrial aerial.

I'll be replacing my trusty "although fairly basic" Strong SRT. Really could do with something that can play files from my media server so I don't need a second device in my bedroom.

May the farce be with you!

This receiver will replace nothing in my current setup. This is because we are running an old 27" CRT TV at the flat, because we can't justify the spend as students. It looks like a great device that will provide hours of flat bonding sessions. The best feature is the fact we would be able to watch something at all when TV goes digital!

This would replace the very basic inbuilt functionality in our DTV.

What excites me about the DTVS Smart1? The ability to record programs would be great, the integration with Google Music sounds cool, the connectivity options look good, and last but definitely not least the awesome remote! :)

I'm about to ditch MySky, for cost reasons, and trying to work out how to get Freeview, so this would be perfect. I do have a WDTV Live, but I actually think this might work better than that - it's very slow starting content over WiFi.

Can't upload a pic, because my phone has had to be sent off for repair, and that's my only camera. Having a great run with tech this month.

I would love this new sat receiver to replace the current setup, using a decoder + HDD recorder. We record every morning the main evening news from a channel from Europe (off OPTUS D2). This is the sole purpose of the HDD recorder. Even when we just watch satellite, the HDD recorder has to be turned ON. The sat receiver is at least 8 years old and for some reason it does wake up for recordings as scheduled but it does not go back to sleep when finished, so it stays ON until 17:30 when we come back from work...

Good luck to all competitors!

Due to financial constraints I recently had to get rid of Sky, and with the digital switch-over last night and my lack of Freeview, i now have a TV sitting in my lounge that is nothing but a glorified monitor so the DTVS Smart1 Satellite Receiver would be a perfect replacement for Sky and give us something to watch in the lounge again :)

My entry answer.... this device sounds pretty awesome! Sounds like it may just eliminate the need for so many devices while offering an array of other very very cool features!! we currently have 4 which we use, my sky for sky/recoding shows & movies, ps3 for gaming & playing fat32 drives, bluray dvd player with usb port & also a small WD media player box(that plays up alot!). The idea of consolidating down to just a couple devices for all our needs is great!
Plus Id love to get a chance to see just what this new device can do! hopefully offer more & simplify intnert/tv/apps & much more!!

heres my set up for extra entries!....

much love xx
