Yeah, we still don't know much about the time war other than "Daleks invade Gallifrey". Good to see some more of Tennant.

The sequel of TARDIS would be TARDIS's given that it's an acronym. It's not like Lexus :)

It's a bit of a shame that out of the over 75 countries who broadcast the episode that New Zealand was the only one who couldn't manage to broadcast it at the same time. Literally the only one.

Which is even odder given that Australia _did_. Would've been the middle of the night in Perth at the time. Given how few people have VCR's, that may have resulted in many people missing it until it was re-broadcast anyway.
Maybe Prime were trying to avoid another rebroadcast?

Saw it in 3D and loved it!

Great turnout and a wonderful Whovian vibe. "Doctors" everywhere. Lots of sonic screwdrivers. I saw a Weeping Angel at one point. Very cool.
Lots of cheering and clapping at all the key moments. I think the last scene brought a tear to a few eyes too.

So many nods back over the years... everything I'd hoped for and more.

Likely the Christmas Special. I also read online that the Doctor has used all 12 of his regenerations, so a new way will have to be shown of how Smith becomes Capaldi.

The limit is 12 regenerations so 13 actual lives, making Smith unlucky 13 and the final regeneration, until they find a way around it (ala The Master), or however they decide to explain it in the special. River Song may have given him some extra regenerations in Let's kill Hitler, the "magic potion" that caused the regeneration from McGann to Hurt may have done something? Dunno.

Not sure if Moffat's explanation is very helpful.

Smith --> Capaldi is definitely part of the Christmas special though.

At least two regenerations were forced on the Doctor so do they count...

There are also discussions popping up all over the internet suggesting that Capaldi is actually the 14th doctor...

Matt Smith was the 11th doctor untill they added John Hurt to make Matt Smith 12, So Capaldi becomes 13 ...

I don't think there was ever a hard limit on the number of doctors - way back it was 9, then 12 and as we know, rules can be changed? He regenerates from the tardis, so what happens if the tardis decides to ignore the script writers rules?

It's generally "canon" within the Whoniverse, and Steven Moffat has acknowledged this. He's going to work around it somehow.

So many nods to the classic series in this anniversary special.

Some obvious, some not so obvious.

Did anybody notice the name of the UNIT girl wearing the scarf? Her name was Osgood. That's also the name of one of the Brigadier's men in the Tom Baker era. His daughter perhaps? Potential for a new companion even?... jus' sayin'....
