KiwiNZ: I have learnt that looking at the "old school" series on Jones in most cases destroys the memory, most have not aged well.

Which shows HAVE aged well in your opinion?

I've mentioned that I am enjoying re-watching MacGyver.

Knight Rider I watched only one episode when it re-screened locally recently.  Same with Greatest American Hero via YouTube.

some of the old American comedies have not aged well, Gilligan's island , Get Smart, Hogans Heroes. Watch them today and i dont find them funny at all. The only exception is All in the Family, watched it the other day and it was still funny, way ahead of it's time.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

I've got all the professionals too. Mrs doesn't get it, but I make her watch them anyway! (And the theme is my ringtone).

Memories!
I haven't seen Taxi in years!
I wish they'd repeat that, It Ain't Half Hot Mum & The Sweeney.
Most of the others I've seen recently and are still brilliant... 'allo 'allo cracks me up every time!

That totally rocked. I loved how it got completely crazy, oh and I love Bruce Campbell too.

Taxi is current re-running on Jones channel.

No one's mentioned the Dukes of Hazzard either yet :-)

Ha! We were allowed to stay up and watch that when I was at boarding school aged about 10 or 11. It was on a Saturday night and was the only TV slot we were allowed all week.

Other faves that occupied that spot were Bergerac and Minder.

I enjoyed (I think) Riptide.
Loved MacGyver. Was not allowed to stay up to watch the A Team or Magnum (have since seen most of them on Box.

Remington Steel was good too.

I remember Friday afternoons - Thunderbirds, then in the evening, always a David Attenborough or that other guy (Old Mans Beard Must Go!) and Fish and Chips - Fish and Chip shop donuts and spring rolls still remind me of him.

Edit: David Bellamy

We don't get that in Oz... it's probably on some channel somewhere tho.

I think MASH remains excellent.

I just watched some clips of these on youtube and that aint pretty.

Seriously I think a lot of this lives in our past and should stay in our past wink

I've seen enough big red digital speedo displays and crappy '80s synthesizer theme tune soundtracks for one night...

Although I have to laugh thinking about how they got their shots, given there were no go pros in those days.  The motorcycle one would have been a motorbike mounted on a trailer with a full sized camera pointed up at them as they drove around town.  Good stuff.
