Great thread... best giggle I've had all day.

On a serious note, stay safe all.

My in laws live just west of Whangarei, only about 5 mins from our place.
They've been without power since Tuesday afternoon and have been told they won't have it back on until the weekend!

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

I lost power for 10 hours last month during the "BIG 30 year storm event" in Auckland.  I thought it was the end of the world.  I have no idea how I would cope waking up without it!

I lost power for a couple of hours yesterday around lunch time. Now my external hard drives don't seem to be recognised by the computer... :/

Wellington frequently hits the headlines when the weather is bad.
Aucklanders watch it and understand.
I have never heard an Auckland make these sorts of comments about the rest of the country to be honest.
As a former South Islander (born and raised for the first 30 years of my life) I dont get this negative Auckland thing.

I have....Newsboy and Mikey down in Gore for instance.....

Anyway, we are aware of Wtgn, I for one, would hate living there. I do have relatives there.
Wind here in Waitakere, not much different from a day at Piha really......annoying but nothing to panic over.
Northland on the other hand seem to be getting it again.
