At the rate Labour is going, by the time they're in a position where New Zealanders might actually elect them to government, there won't be a New Zealand left to govern at the rate National are dismantling everything the country stands for.

I don't think he'll be a leader other than having to choose someone until a more permanent person is chosen. Honestly, for me he comes off as the compromise candidate to try and keep the various factions happy - certain prejudices of certain communities result in unfavourable attitudes towards particular candidates doesn't help the situation either.

Paul1977:
kiwitrc: Sorry to interrupt Mike, but in breaking news, there is some paint drying on a wall across town.

I'm very interested to learn more about this paint drying, do you have any updates?

Its not good I'm afraid, turns out the Red paint they used wouldn't stick to anything and was full of rainbow flecks.

Its been changed to an organic hemp oil based Green paint but as it dried it went deep Red, and the wall is covered in marx but that might just be from the ladder that was lennin on it.

networkn: God help small business employers if this guy ever gets near power. Nightmare.

God help any business if he ever gets near power.

Saw his true colours when he was involved with the EPMU union.

Care to elaborate?

Did a quick Google and couldn't find what you're on about.

Your kidding right? You have never heard of one of the largest unions in NZ, its referred to as EPMU, stands for Engineering printing and manufacturing union.

And its the first Google result when you search for 'EPMU union'. You must be using a different 'type' of Google...

Wow. Was it not obvious I wanted you to elaborate on what Little did when involved with the EPMU? These "true colours" you saw, do tell.

They could elect Jeebus himself as leader. They still won't ever get a vote from me!

National failed to reach 50% of party vote, so, in theory, the majority agree with Kyanar (-;

People forget that if it wasn't for Colin Craig votes being redistributed, National can't govern alone.

Anyhow, it seems odd for a party leader without the support of the caucus?

Your political views are very well documented in these forums. You vote blue, always.

- What would happen if Labour came up with a bunch of ideas that you agreed with?
- What would you do if a left leaning politician turned up with a cracking set of ideas that would benefit all of New Zealanders?

Not that I want to compare you in a negative light but every time you repeat your political views I have this image in mind of you being the Geekzone version of a street thug - your blue bandana hanging from hip, pants around arse and always looking for red guys to punch over.

Maybe you should go to the Press F1 forum.  It seems to be a hot bead of labor support.

I have noticed over the years that this and nearly every politically orientated thread here has one thing in common, people seem to think it is ok to forget common human courtesy and respect

Just an observation... as you were

Good question there, but if labour produced such policies they would not be labour any more!

That is not to say they would never have good policies but that fundamentally they would always be left slanted and lean towards union/ lower socioeconomic groups.

I would like to see all political parties able to say "damn thats s great idea we'll support you" regarless of who comes up with it.

It simply won't happen.

Given that I consider National too centre and not far enough to the right, the chances of Labour successfully coming up with ideas I would vote for are roughly equal to me getting winning Lotto numbers for Wednesday and Saturday every week for a year.
