floydbloke: Somewhat relevant.  Noel Leemings have opened a branch in the Wellington CBD, in Featherston street directly across the intersection from Dick Smiths.

Cool some more appliance stores in the CBD is good. Tory St is a pain always conjested an parking impossible.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

That's why I always head out to the 'burbs for those kinds of shops.  They're inevitably larger with more stock because they have more floorspace.

I couldn't help but think about this thread with today's news about Apple's world record quarterly profit announcement.  According to this BBC News article Apple's US$18 billion is the biggest quarterly profit ever made by a public company — mostly down to sales of the iPhone 6.  This article says they sold 74.5 million iPhones just in December.  That's an astonishing 34,000 every hour!

So they probably need to open a few more Stores to avoid giving that profit to the tax man.  And so much for those people who said Apple would lose their way without Steve Jobs.

I think they also doubled Cook's salary...!

Interestingly iPad sales are falling. As one of the few who was not won over by the new Shiny Thing, I am not surprised. Great for browsing the web, reading the paper etc but sweet FA use for actually doing work unless they invent one that runs Yosemite instead of iOS.
