That makes not the slightest sense to me....! How on earth you could make those words mean that I simply cannot see.
I think we should have a National Slap an American Day, with ruining a perfectly good language being just one of the reasons. I started watching American Chopper a few years ago, and couldn't work out why they were saying 'That is totally sick man' about a nice piece of work. Then there are all those 'people of color' which hate to be 'dissed', while they make rap songs that 'feat' other artists. It always seems to me that the harder people demand to be 'respected' the lower their self esteem must be.
OK they take some liberties over in Oz, but at least they are funny.

They do it here too of course, turning 'all over the shop' into 'all over the show' and so on. And don't get me started on 'manchester' instead of 'linen'!
Think of "break bad" as "break out bad". Makes much more sense.
I thought of it as more in the sense of 'Break away' I.e. You are on the straight and narrow, then suddenly you break away from that path to a path of being bad. Hence: breaking bad.
