Totally agree re the Lambton quay BK.

It's funny how there is so much variation. The Masterton McD's is fairly useless, for example. The words 'fast food' have a totally different meaning there....!

JimmyH:
Glassboy: The Lower Hutt BK is disgusting.  Most burgers from the Lambton Quay store seem to have died of shame.

Yep. Lambton Quay was where I got mine. It was the regular double whopper sized buns, but basically had two meat patties, one hard white lettuce stalk, and one solitary bit of onion. All the filling and sauce I remember getting previously was missing, and it was basically close to inedible. Basically some random bits carelessly thrown together by someone who didn't seem to give a continental about what was supposed to be there or serving customers a nice burger. Didn't want to complain because of the people I was with, but I probably should have.

Won't be going back any time soon.

Interestingly, for 12:30 on a Friday lunchtime, the place was three-quarters or more empty seats. I remember that it used to be packed with difficulty finding a table. I suspect I may now know why there's hardly anyone there now?

I suspect the upgraded Lambton food court has taken most of their business.  The Chinese place seems to go through a mountain of deep fried chicken wings.

You may be right. Frankly, just on the basis of the lamentable standard of what they are serving, without even taking their premium-ish pricing into account, it would be fairly easy for pretty much any halfway-decent eatery in close proximity to take their customers.

For instance, for less money, Subway will give you a very substantial and tasty customised foot long roll packed with flavour and filling. The Chinese takeaway next door will also give a hot meal that is acceptable and filling, for materially less.

Wonder how long that BK will stay open?
